I think Filson is like Carhartt for folks who don't go outside or have to work jobs...but want to look like they do.

I'll add that I do like it, the colors the fabrics and especially the gooch cooler.
It's actually the opposite, Filson is the Carhartt for those that DO go outside.

All jokes aside, I own several classic Filson Tin-Cloth pieces and have actually put it to use when I did forestry work. It is the real deal for harsh weather and working in the wet PNW woods. I still use it when I'm working in shit weather on my MT property.

I just wish they'd release any edition that paired a manual with a 2.7 or 3.0 motor. Overall I dig this a lot. A lot of people can't get a braptor because of its width or height, so this is a great compromise. If I wanted to change to an automatic, i'd definitely jump for this.

What about his is not "ready for prime time"???? I am guessing you don't like it.

But isn't that why they make a lot of different Broncos? Because everyone has different likes and dislikes?
I think it's cool (I'm not a 4-door guy, but a rising tide lifts all boats), just not sure why they released it with an outdated dash and a SAS with no 4A on the GOAT dial. To the enthusiast it looks sloppy, how hard would it have been to make it right?

Talked to them at the auto shows, the person there I spoke to said the Bronco will never get a fixed roof (which I think is stupid).

But again, I think if they offered a 2 piece roof, which would be rear over trunk area and then other piece cover front/rear seats with a mechanical sun/moon roof option, most would opt for that. It would also help with less leak seem points because you wouldn't have the "T" between the front/passenger/rear seats. Just the roof.

I'm just amazed they haven't thought of this year. Most I know that have the Bronco barely take the roof off.
Where I am, the Utah mountains, high desert, there’s a limited window for taking the roof off. In the winter there’s unpredictable snow and freezing rain, and when it’s not winter the trails are quickly dry and dusty. I’m off-road frequently but have never taken the top off because one trail in Toqueville or Kolob Canyon and it will be like God emptied a cosmic ashtray on you and every inch of your interior. I don’t want to inhale a quarter pound of dirt.

Rich people don’t want to go to the hassle of manually removing a big, heavy roof. Push a button or it’s not happening.

I do not know about the lack of A4... interesting. I think there will be different levels/options. I noticed some have the disconnecting sway bar and some do not. It is possible the A4 transfer case is an option.... The outdated dash? Maybe that is what it will come with. There are some that like that. I prefer the digital but not sure I am going to spend to change it... Maybe someday....

Keep in mind that we pour over all the details.

Remember back at launch they had the Cyber Orange 2-dr making the promotional rounds and was featured on Leno's Garage? Thing was huge. Turns out that it was a roller with no engine/driveline. It was just sprung without any suspension load.

And then there was the Overland Concept. We all were geeking out and ignored the 35's stuffed without a lift. Darn thing could only roll in a straight line.

Take a closer look at these Filson mules roofs. No way they tested/documented a 20% noise reduction with no headliner on the interior. If so, then all the effort in mitigating noise reduction was done by blanketing the chassis with Kilmat and improving the door/window seals.

the 3.0 will be massively detuned they've already stated that in the article and this will be every bit of 85k by the time it comes out! especially since last year when they dropped the raptor price by 10k and its already crept back up over 6k from the price drop.

I LOVE that it has the 3.0 without the BBL fender flares. However, it is still a four-door and getting one of those would be a slippery slope. As a member of the critically endangered sub-species of humans known as Homo sapiens manualis duoporticus, I cannot bring my lizard brain to purchase one.

I’m sure it will get added here eventually, and it won’t be inexpensive:

As long as it's as good as the old Filson stuff, it'll be a good buy.

Im not a station wagon fan, but this is pretty cool. I won't buy one, but I don't hate it.
I'm so tempted, because it has a 3.0 without the Braptor's trucker Tupperware hips. In the end, it's still a four-door and while it's something neat, it isn't in this:
Ford Bronco 2027 Bronco Filson: Specs, Price, Features, Everything You Need to Know 1000062029

Nothing special. More glitter. Waiting on the Lulu Lemon edition for the wife.
Braptor with Spandex-wrapped fenders, the 2.0L EcoBoost, and it only comes painted in Pumpkin Spice Latte. 😂

The presumption that this is a "special edition" and will be finished in a year is premature. The Ford/Filson collaboration looks to be a multi-year initiative. Why else would Ford emphasize the "First Edition"? That indicates there will be subsequent editions.
Limited to 2500 in NA, but could be yurned into "per year" easily.

Once the "special edition" is done, and if it seems successful, I can see this becoming the rebranded Lincoln that we have all seen rumors of leading up to this. Question is, what would the name be?

Few ideas via Grok (I removed the ones that were currently used by other manufactures like Odyssey and Traverse)
  • Lincoln Horizon
  • Lincoln Helmsman
  • Lincoln Wayfarer
  • Lincoln Argonaut
  • Lincoln Meridian
  • Lincoln Luminary
  • Lincoln Vanguard
  • Lincoln Constellation
I think Lincoln Admiral would be a great name. I've been saying it for years I thought that would have been better for the Nautilus and also thought about it years ago for a Lincoln version of the Excursion.

Some of you need to lay off of Filson. No, you haven't heard of the brand and that doesn't indicate a problem, but making fun of it is off base when you don't know what you're talking about.

Filson is a bit niche because their clothing can be collectively considered as "extreme". Sure, some of it is imported these days, but I dare you to put anything from other brands up against it.

The Filson Tin Cloth is a waxed canvas that is often imitated by soft wear on Huckberry. Many of you mention brands that have long been Filson knock offs such as Eddie Bauer or Orvis.

Filson is the original and a Filson bag will outlast you and your son and only gets better. I love mine and I love more that I don't have to baby it. Every time I go wheeling for the past 7 years I've had a Filson backpack that's been through hell and mud, it's waxed, so it just gets wiped off and looks even better for it.

Filson pants are heavy, the Mackinaw Wool coat is legendary and always looks great in any setting and I've worn a couple of Filson caps for years and love that only a few recognize the brand.

Maybe give the brand a shot and in the end, this is an awesome Bronco edition that will only raise the value of our trucks as well. This is a very nice package that may take over most of the market and I am here for that.

Ford is taking aim square at Defender and I'd buy this Bronco over a Defender any day of the week if I wanted a 4 door which I don't.

...So does this message from Filson mean that you can get the First Edition in Iron Sands Copper OR Field Green Metallic? I'd be in for the Green, but agree with a previous poster that the interior, combined with the Sands Copper, might be a bit much.

My interpretation is that all the colors listed are available for the Filson FE, but that the Iron Sands Copper is exclusive to the FE.
