Hertz MPBX300S2 Loaded 12" Sub Tailgate Review.

After about 10 hrs of play at levels 8-23, surround, default IQ, powered by Kenwood XR1001.1 on MTX rack have to say it's amazing.

Starting to shine after breaking in a little. Projects perfect bass sound stage to windshield and balances rest of speaker tones perfectly with my ears hurting at about 25.

I am blown away and feel no need to get a $2K DSP amp and $500 LOC.....I doubt I could make a better tune.

Will only get better the closer the sub gets to 80-100 hrs play time.

It's just a box on tailgate didn't think would be worth any pic....

Do you have the sub facing the cabin or the tailgate- it looks like it comes with feet, are you using them? What is the depth of the box off the gate?

I did not use the feet. I mounted 3 screw and bonded threaded 1/4 anchors into box sides and rivnut mounted two steel 90 degree heavier guage shelves from amazon to tailgate, that bold into MPBX sides.

Sub is facing cabin. 7" deep.

I did try on feet with plan to bolt through floor panel through feet into sub box. Did not give feet enough time with sub break in and felt sounded better with tailgate position facing cabin, but i like punch vs boomy sub and this thing can dig deep facing cabin and sound good on volume 8 as well as 27 on 1000W amp.

Also can I ask what audio setup you started with and what else you have now? B&O, or base with or without sub? Any other speakers or amps up front?

Imjust gor some 3 X 3 X 12 steel shelf 90" heavy guage brakets from Amazon and rupivnut them to tail gate and used large MDF shrews from HomeDepot to attach sub to bracket.

Audio is in my sig.
