The video says it’s only for up to 2024 models. Does this work for 2025?
21 to 24 is a different frequency than 25 and up. buy the proper one and you are good.

I have a 2025 with a 7MT so I don’t have remote start and it is the only option for 2025 models. Does that mean it won’t work if you have a manual transmission???
remote start uses a different frequency than none remote start vehicles.

How does it not lose power over time and lock you out? Am i overthinking this?
There are not replaceable batteries inside it?
The battery will die just like all batteries, They are NOT meant to be taken apart but if you are careful you might be able to change a battery and then put it back together.

So I'm trying to understand what is the use case for this. It said you don't need a key fob you can just go there and punch the code to get in, but my fear is if something goes wrong and I don't have my key fob, then I really can't get in. Does it assume you can still open the car with your cell phone if you have the app? With the dongle in my pocket I just walk up to the car and I open the door. So is the whole idea behind this is you don't have to carry your dongle ? So once you open the door by punching in the code, how do you start the car without your dongle?

My use case would be that I plan on flat towing the Bronco behind my rv and use it while I camp. I usually try not to have the keys on me while camping or towing. Meaning they are likely in the RV. It never fails that I end up forgetting to get the keys when I need to get something into or out of the towed vehicle. Simply pushing a few buttons to gain access make it quick and easy. The app is easy, but not always quick especially since I don't use it very often so I would assume I would have to log back in. Obviously, cell service could also be an issue. My last towed vehicle (2020 Rubicon) I would constantly be forgetting the key, so having an option that makes it a bit more pleasant, might be worth it to me. My RV is built on a 2022 F-600 Superduty chassis and has the keypad. I use it all the time on that.

Is it though? I don't really know what Ford charges to install it, but this basically includes installation.

One use if people who may drive somewhere and go for a run/hike or whatever. If you do not want to carry/lose the fob, you lock it in the vehicle somewhere and use the pad. Alternatively, get one of those external magnetic boxes for under the vehicle.

I was also curious, so i called the Ford dealer, they said when you order it online and pay for the installation $56.00, when the part comes in they will call you and setup service appointment to program the FDRS. The $56.00 pays for it. Theres even a 20% and 15% assessory coupon going on right now. Just google it. Its $155 for >= 2025 and $125 for <= 2024 + $56 for the programming. A 2 day FDRS used to be $50 its now $120, time sure have changed. In any case not sure I really need this. When I mt bike I keep the dongle with me just like my cell phone.

You don’t. You still need the fob to start the vehicle.

My dealer wanted 2 hours shop rate to install and would not honor the online installation price
I’ve had this done and the online install price honored for 3 dealers in So Cal. I think someone else on the thread confirmed this as well. Every dealer is different though (even though it shouldn’t be)

Wrong, that's what they indicate but it is quite easy to remove, swap battery, re-apply new 3m double sided tape and stick back on. They last for many years
I have the factory/dealer installed keypad. My Bronco is over 4 years old and the battery still works fine. I wonder how long it will go...
