Ford Bronco Another Blowout on the OEM Goodyear Rock Slingers 1775444508820-zm
O

Going < 15 MPH on a rock/gravel road in Big Ben National Park my passenger rear tire blew out. A rock made a slash in between the treads in the middle of the treads the tires are too soft! Anyway, fed up 2nd blown tire less than 20K mostly highway miles - went with BFG K03 anyone running these so far, I see a huge difference for the better in the ride quality going off road tomorrow in the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas, so I am expecting positive results!

I was just getting down to my cabin the the ozarks when I blew a tire also on a gravel road. Good to know it's a tire problem and not something I drove over.

I was so confused when I found the leak spot, how could it be punctured where it was?

I plan on probably getting some falken wildpeak at4w's as I have had a slow leak in another tire for months now.

Yeah, I'm have had several Goodyear tires over the years as OEM tires. Never replaced them with another Goodyear product for similar reasons. Just got punctured by about anything.
Getting KO3's put on this week.

Starting a go fund me if anyone wants to help. 🤣

Yes, KO3's are a big improvement.

I just put K03s (load range D) on my son's Bronco. We bought it used with 50k miles and it had the original tires, except one. It must have failed. They were mostly worn out after 65k miles, and then we got a screw in one, so I just put new tires on.

We will likely never really test the tires off-roading, but the K03s chewed through some huge puddles on the road yesterday after a big downpour. I was expecting some hydroplaning, but it was stable right through them. I feel better with my son driving on these tires.

I have been running the KO3 for a year now. Mine are load range F so they are pretty stiff. they do better when they get some wear, now that I have a Moab trip, a Nevada/Cali trip and a Baja trip on them they feel/act better about 7,000 miles total and about 4000 of that in dirt.

Replaced the rock slingers after only 500mi with Toyo OC AT3 since I live on gravel roads. What a difference, my rig no longer sounds like a popcorn machine when I hit the pavement lol

How is the road noise for the KO3's vs the factory Goodyears?

During construction of a Dollar General that I have to pass daily on the way to work, I got a BUNCH of flats (picked up nails from where they were setting concrete forms.) Recently noticed a screw in right rear. Took it in, and it was deemed unrepairable due to its proximity to another repair. Can't put a patch partially over top of another patch.25,000 miles in, and the Goodyears still have between 10-12 32nds of tread depth. They seem like they're going to make it to 60K or more. Other than a few punctures, the early rock throwing which has calmed quite a bit with mileage, and increasing noise as they wear (pretty common to most tires) I have no complaints.

I'm still trying to decide what to do when they get closer to EOL. Another set? KO3s? Duratracs? Coopers (which I've always favored for their combination of price and performance), or what?

Much quieter but they do sling more rocks than the GY's so that noise is more.

Yeah, the Wildpeak's look nice they're on backorder most everywhere & I didn't want to waste more time with the Good4Blawn tires any longer the KO3 were about $20 more and available.
