Sorry - but I have a MIC top vs. Painted top question for someone who has had Both.

Do they both have the same tires? Tires would change road noise heard in the cab. I'm not familiar with the 2025 standard options.
Yes, I tested with GY RTs and BFG KO2s. That was one of the things I was testing. It's not the tires.

I don't have the current painted top version. Mine looks like a painted version of the MIC with the "carpet" sound deadening material. The Hot Head panels work with my version of the painted top.

Maybe someone else can explain this better? Not sure what to call what I have?
There are two versions of the painted HT. Early versions have the same sound deadening headliner as the MIC. Later versions have a more refined interior with panels (this is the version that Rusty was referring to earlier as not being conducive for patches).

I have a 2025 OBX with the painted top. The top is an updated version of the original design, far better sealed than the MIC top on my 2023 Badlands. I don't get any wind noise getting through the seams. (It is not the most current design with the white inside)

But, I have made in much quieter with these headliner panels from Hot Head. I went with black, they just velcro to the factory sound deadening material. They look totally OEM.

Best $550 bucks I've spent on my Bronco. Highway driving is a pleasure now.

Your hotheadliners are on a painted top? The website states:

IMPORTANT FITMENT REQUIREMENT

This headliner is designed exclusively for Ford Bronco MIC (Molded-In-Color) matte black hard tops.
Painted or gloss hard tops are NOT compatible.

Desmolicious - this is the clarification from Mr Bell:

Apparently there are 2 versions of the MIC. And his is "painted" but still MIC.....

2 versions of the painted top, only one MIC top.

One painted top just has the same interior finish as the MIC

Neither of those are "quiet" tires. They will put some amount of howl/hum into the cabin. Bridgestone Dueler H/T will be considerably quieter. Make sure to isolate tire noise from wind noise....or just take the top and doors completely off and know for sure all the noise is wind as you grin ear to ear driving one of the most fun trucks on the market.

I'd wager to say if you test drove a Bronco and afterwards were not completely smitten with the awesomeness of the truck and the main concern is the cabin noise, you're probably not a Bronco person. An Explorer, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, or BMW X5 or something more of the current SUV ilk is probably more appropriate.

I never said they were quiet, I was just answering a question. You're way off topic.

The worst thing you can do to make your Bronco loud is to replace the front hard panels with a BestTop Sunrider flip top.

I have had both tops. MIC on my 2023 Wildtrak and Painted on my 2024 Wildtrak. I thought the painted top seems to be a little bit quieter but not a game changer. The Bronco is still a brick in your choice of color. I would not set your expectations extremely high for a quiet cabin. It's not terrible but if anyone is in the car that's hard of hearing will be very frustrated. It's not bad with one passanger. Both tops will be in the same category noise wise. That should be the reason for picking painted or MIC IMO.

The biggest thing is the crappy cracks on the MIC. Mine had cracks forming in less then a year!!! I also think the painted black looks awesome. No finish issues for me in the last 24k.

Please let me know how they work out for you.

Worked like a charm. Glad I took the leap.

Well, I am glad I gave it a shot. The headliner fits like a glove and there is definitely a reduction in noise. My best way of explaining it, is that I can listen to the radio anywhere from 1-3 notches lower than I could before.

For others reading this thread. I believe what is going on here is the MOD hard tops have 2 manufactures and what you get depends on your trim level. What works is, if you have a MOD hard top and your interior is black, similar to the MIC tops and you have the sound deadening, then the hothead headliner fits your vehicle. This isn't officially supported by them, but the fit is perfect.

I checked with Hot Heads and they do not yet make liners for the newer painted hardtop with the white interior. The internal contours are different than the MIC and black painted tops.

Said they are working on it with no estimate when it will be available.

Oh no shit! The MIC has the the fuzzy side of velcro as the sound deadening material. The painted one has something much higher quality, but it didn't look like velcro could stick to it.
Velcro sticks just fine.

Thanks for the update and thrilled the Hot Head panels are cutting down the noise for you. I've been super happy with mine, two recent road-trips were very pleasant because the cabin was so much quieter.

Anyone with the "carpet" sound deadening headliner should be able to use them. Glad to hear there's a version in the works for the newer painted tops.

I just purchased a 2025 badlands, it has the white interior top, I’m hoping to reduce wind noise. Looking forward to what hot heads comes up for this. Has anyone tried sound deading the doors?

This is a bit off topic, but did they bring back the removable side windows for the "modular painted top"?
