Tilzbow used some short safety cables to get out to the front of his bumper. I installed a Eye bolt on each side using the outside crash bar hole.
Do you a source for the eye bolt you used, please? Can find anything local at tractor supply, ace or Lowe’s. Appreciate it.

When I did mine I cut the nut off the bottom of the crash bar and drilled the holes out to 1/2" and I also welded the eye closed on the eye bolts I used.
A better solution is to get a m12-1.75 eye bolt about 85 mm long and screw it in from the bottom and then put a nut and lock washer on top. I'm assuming the threads on this one are 1.75

I feel stupid. After pulling out my impact driver to remove that 18mm nut, realized it was welded on. Got the bolt out the top to measure. Thanks for that link. I should be good to go now. Got everything ordered, just waiting to install now.

Don't feel bad I did the same thing. Just didn't think of a metric eye bolt at the time.

I promised to share my flat towing with a winch setup and finally took some pictures. I have a 2021 4-dr, 2.7L, and a stock MOD bumper. Here's my setup:
RVI Brake 3 (sits on the floor with no additional bracket required)
RVI towed charger
RVI breakaway wireless adapter
Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain Towbar
Roadmaster 035-1 adapters
LOD front bumper tie in brackets (these strengthen the frame horns for the winch and provide a breakaway connection)
Magnetic taillights ran off separate wires added along chassis frame. I wussed out of using taillight diodes for no particular reason other than an unfounded fear of a diode failure that could potentially cause me an additional headache.
Rough Country High Winch Mount
JCR Prerunner Bar
Mountains2Metal camera relocation kit

My goal was to limit the amount of modification in case I change my mind and decide to sell the Bronco (not likely based on the wide smile I ride around with). Thanks again to all of you early posters for making this so painless! Please reply if you have any questions.

In the 2nd image the breakaway cables are hooked onto "recovery" rings that my rig doesn't have. Are those after market add-ons?

Appreciate your input! I have the RVi Brake 3 which I got from Hitch Corner in Denver when they installed my tow bar, etc.

Btw if you ever need support on it RVi is super responsive. I lost my manual which has the QR code needed to pair the RVi brake with the tablet. I sent them an email with my serial number and they sent me a QR code via email within 10 minutes. I’m seriously considering adding their Tire pressure monitor for at least the RV (maybe Bronco too) now based on my experience.
I had the same experience with RVI. I now have a paper copy of the QR codes in my brake case and digital copies downloaded to my phone and on Google Drive.

For those of you that don't tow with a baseplate (e.g., us the recovery points with a modular bumper) how far off the ground (e.g., distance from the ground to the recovery point) are the recovery points?
Was this ever answered? Stock Badlands Sasquatch 25 3/4"

Hello Everyone,

I need to start by thanking all of you for the many excellent contributions and suggestions you have posted on this thread. I bought a 2024 Bronco Raptor last month and I discovered your thread while researching the necessary preparations to get my Bronco ready for flat towing behind our Winnebago Grand Tour. We've replaced our Subaru Outback (with manual transmission) which was our previous tow vehicle with approximately 70k miles of flat towing behind the Winnebago. I have read all 58 pages of this thread and recognize and very much appreciate the time you all have invested in providing all of this advice. I feel like I know you all now and I'd like to buy you all a beer - starting with @grtharris in OK!

I am going to use the Roadmaster RM-035-1 adapter to connect to our Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar using the Bronco's recovery hooks. I ordered the LOD tie-in brackets to support the bumper and to provide a separate location for the safety cables. I installed the Roadmaster brake pressure reducer and their "2nd vehicle kit" so I could keep using our Brakemaster supplemental braking system. I also installed the Curt 52204 towed battery charger to avoid any battery drain even though the Brakemaster does not use any DC power from the towed vehicle.

I am waiting to receive the LOD brackets and after I get them installed, I believe we will be ready for our first trip with the Bronco as our Toad. However, I have read many horror stories here about the unexplained flat tow failures when the Bronco took itself out of flat tow mode. Was there ever a root cause discovered for this and has it been corrected? I cannot imagine the feeling from a flat tow failure not covered by warranty.

Once again, thank you all! Cheers!!

Reports of flat tow failures have slowed or even stopped. I haven't seen one posted for many months. So maybe it was an early manufacture thing that Ford fixed and those that were going to fail have failed. Maybe Ford issued an OTA software update that fixed things. Maybe folks got tired of talking about it, regardless seems to be all good now.

Welcome to the group.

@Kevmoll

Well, if you go to the online owners manual, you'll see that Ford is stating that you need to pull a couple fuses depending on your model and year to disable the ABS/Brake system.

I'm unclear if Ford is doing this to prevent glitched system lockup, or more likely due to the electric brake assist ends ~45 minutes into a tow when everything goes to sleep. This could really change your supplemental brake setup assist which isn't ideal. Battery drain too, but that is easily solved from coach power back feed. Might be deeper into the weeds than Ford wants to recommend.

Regardless, I have a 7mt and I have no desire to do the fuse pull dance (you have like 5 minute wait times going in and out of tow mode, really not ideal if you need to unhook and backup or move the TOAD quickly) so I'm going to see how things go. I'm using a AirForce One from DEMCO which I've used for many years and miles towing the LX450 with the same coach.

I’m pretty happy with how my flat tow setup turned out.
I ordered by Bronco with the modular bumper, but was required to switch to the capable bumper to get my allocation. So I made a quick swap to the ford performance tow hooks.
I’m using a blue ox alpha 2 tow bar, and universal d ring adapters for the blue ox bar. RVI brake 3 system with an Ankler 521 power station seatbelted in the front seat to provide uninterrupted 12v power to the brake system.

Gen Y hitches makes a nice 10K rated adapter to raise up my hitch for flat towing the Bronco now and can still be used if we lift it more. It also fits a double bike rack between the Rv and Bronco while still allowing tight turning. I had to order longer safety chains and coiled power cord to make this work well. We also mount another couple bikes behind the Bronco on a swing out carrier.
We are getting excited to head to the Keys for Christmas and New Years with the new setup.
Looks good, I'm setting up my new Bronco up to tow now. Had been towing a JL Rubicon up to this point and used the RVI Brake same Blue Ox towbar. I plan on using the same setup for the Bronco. Trying to read through this massive thread to learn as much as I can before I actually do all the work. I was wondering if you use the Anker instead of the 12v outlet in the console because you do not have the RVI Towed Battery charger, or if there is another reason? Thanks for any info you can share.
