How much more do we see Ford limiting the 2 door? Is there a chance it goes away entirely ?

When I was younger growing up in PA, We WANTED our SUVs to be "Station Wagons" because it was cheaper for both insurance and taxes... My Scout II's and 2 Door Suburbans from the 60's Were all registered and titled as Station Wagons. We didn't really care what they were labeled as, like folks seem to today...

I blame the rise of the minivan in the 80's, all the sudden we had to classify every type of vehicle, and SUV was OK for Men, But Station Wagon and Mini van weren't...

I don't care what anyone calls my vehicle, as long as it suits my needs and wants ;)

Stationwagons were always cars. The bigger wagons like wagoneers and cherokees, I always just thought of them as jeeps or suburbans. Mentally, I never connected them as anything else or heard them called anything else.
What? No love for the AMC Eagle...a factory 4x4 wagon...

I see 4 doors. Zero love. In high school, I had a 72 Wagoneer. 4 door, with a rare manual. I loved the engine and the 4 speed, and wanted to swap them into a Cherokee, so I could really love the vehicle. It's either two doors or too many.

Dad wanted to get one of those Eagles for mom, but she ended up with a wagoneer too lol

I was being all sarcastical...we mercilessly mocked the poor SOB that had to drive one in high school. It didn't matter that it was new...

I dont know anyone who had to drive one of those, but I think it would have been higher status than either a Pacer or a Gremlin.

While the Eagle wagons are cool and all, I wanted an Eagle SX/4. Still kinda do.

I worked at a AMC dealership when the eagle came out, they had at least 50 of them on the back lot they could not sell…they had 4 cyl ”iron dukes” and 258 6cyls they were complete dogs…drove one to Reno doing 40mph over the pass wide open…

The emission control at that time really chocked things up... rather typical of about everything built in that era.

LOL My dad's mantra when I was growing up was "I won't own anything newer than a '72." He stuck to those guns for quite a while.

I love my two door. But I know that at some point I'll be past the warranty and I'll want to buy the newest version of the Bronco. Sure hope they will have a 2 door for me in 5 years or so when I'm ready to move on from this one.

I've been thinking about this. Mine being both a 2-door AND a manual, I will not let mine go. What do I replace it with? I'd rather let it sit in the garage and pick the lint off of it every once in a while. Maybe now is the time to buy an old YJ or something to toddle around in.
