Not that I want another recall but seriously, the hyperbole is a bit much. NO REARVIEW CAM WILL RESULT IN MILLIONS OF DEATHS (practically). To stop selling the whole line is absurd...

Remember the seat belt recall? The location of the buckle causing people to not buckle their seatbelt. Crazy! I was buckling my belt every time before the recall and didn't notice the difference.

I have e a 22 wildtrak with 13k, I've had the rear camera supposedly replaced twice for recall (never had an issue), yesterday for the first time backing into the driveway, the screen was black, it still had the lines. I put back into park than reverse, it worked fine. I finally saw a recall issue.

wtf is going on with the low pressure fuel pump recall was issued in July and still no fix it’s sad all vehicles are trash not just ford everyone putting out garbage

my screen has locked up, turns off, and some times turns back on virtually since the day i bought it. i just live with it now lol!

Wonder if this recall applies to those that have blackouts due to screen or APIM module failure, NOT due to high temperatures.
There have been a bunch of module failure posts here... usually requiring module replacement, which can be expensive if out of warranty. Would those also be covered?
The point of the recall is to address the danger of not having a functioning back up camera. I'm thinking repairs should be covered, regardless of the cause.

Probably not, unfortunately. Sounds like this is gonna be a pure software fix, and may even be an OTA.

If your APIM is faulty, software isn't gonna fix it.

I received notice that tonight it will do a OTA update. (Popped up on the screen) Will render the screen inop for 15 min. Since the notice at noon today the carplay also wont connect Sure hope the update cures this BS,

Can you drove it while it is doing an OTA update?
Mine is parked deep in a garage so the only time it will get a signal is outside while I am driving.

If you get cell service then you should be ok, However its states it has to be parked to initiate the update.

WARNING: The rear view camera
system is a reverse aid supplement
device that still requires the driver to use
it in conjunction with the interior and
exterior mirrors for maximum coverage.

If someone backs into something simply because the camera becomes inoperable they probably have little recourse.

Some you can, some you can't
It will usually tell you if it's one that will immobilize the vehicle.
