I'm wondering how much it's cost you to repair damage caused by the dry chemical. I know you're doing much of the work yourself.

Really just the cost of alcohol, vinegar, brushes, soap, spray bottles, and time. All kinds of time. Seems we caught it soon enough that no damage was caused by it, we just gotta do our part to address it. Over and over and over and….

I think so, personally. But there are others out there that would prefer to let it burn and have their insurance pay for a new one.

Understandable, really. People suddenly start having $100k in accessories on every vehicle that’s stolen/burned down.

I want to say I saw something where people referred to a policy that specifically covers accessories, but I can’t remember as I didn’t look into it. Or I’m just making it up…

Hagerty has an agreed upon value option that I have on a couple of my cars. I recently added my Hellcat on after I dropped 30K into a billet aluminum block 426, but it dropped the amount of miles I can drive the car from 6k miles down to 3k miles per year.
I don't know of any insurance that covers just the aftermarket parts.

Talk to your agent. Also keep receipts for everything.

Just a reminder that if you have any connections held together with a set screw, yank those effers out and replace them with a terminal connection that has been sufficiently crimped. Good lord this harness is not an awesome task to replace. Or so I'm told. Mrs. Sierra Bronco is doing all that as my hands are too big and I'm working on the portals. Again. She enjoyed removing the old harness, but with as stiff as the new harness is she is not having an awesome time with the installation

And then there's the whole...ya know...fire thing. That part sucks disirregardless of the harness needing replaced.

Nooooowwwwwwww we’re talking. Time to capitalize on this fuckup.

Funny-Mrs was in an offroading class and we noticed the lug nuts were loose (one was missing) on the wheels of a participant. Pulled a lug from the spare and I grabbed my torque wrench from the toolbox. Gave them an opportunity to talk about properly torquing stuff. Later during lunch I was doing my own nut check and saw one of the jam nuts had backed off evvvvvvver so slightly. But enough to be visible to the naked eye. (Had adjusted pinion angle before the trip so it needed retorqued anyway) Was another great lesson for new people to understand how easy the paint marks make things for quick checks, especially on jam nuts where ya gotta bust out the crows foot to torque them, and it’s not always possible without using a jack.
