Fantastic and inspiring pics!!! Thanks for taking the time to share!!!
I'm showing them to my family right now, try to get them thinking about such a trip.
We are planning to do
Alaska next summer, probably the whole month of July then the Dempster around Aug 1. It would be nice to get a caravan together.
We are going. July ‘24!
I'm about the least social person ever in real life, but I could be convinced!I would be interested in joining a caravan to Alaska!
The Denali Highway is 135 miles long and cuts across the state east-west between the two highways that run north. The internet will tell you that the first few miles on each end are paved and the rest is dirt, but that's not exactly true. If you start from the west, you'll be on dirt right away, but near the halfway point it changes to chip seal. So while not technically "paved", the whole eastern half is basically asphalt these days. There are a handful of trails off the highway though, including a couple truly spectacular ones. Those pictures made my day, looks unbelievable. is most of the journey unpaved?
Man Alaskan mosquitos don't mess around, some of those suckers are monsters! A swarm of those little bastards could definitely take a small dog awayThe Alaskan state birds are big enough to pick up small pets and take them back to their nests. Absolutely legendary and only slightly exaggerated.
