that's like buying a brand new car with direct injection and converting it to a carburetor.

Oh boy.....is everything over stock height now called "SAS'd"

I guess I feel the same way about this that I do about the super built up Jeeps on 40's. This is cool for SEMA, and I'm sure it's cool to be a first build front straight axle new Bronco, but in real life it's kind of pointless. There's no where that you need 40's to go that you would do with a long wheelbase full bodied car. It ends up being over kill and goes so far as to be another level of mall crawler. If you want to do big rocks, spend half that and get a decent rock buggy. Besides, the sticky compound is what really makes the difference, not the tire size. But, I get it, somebody had to be first.

I'm a rock buggy driver. We see it all the time. Guys spend a fortune building big Jeeps, but will never hang with the buggies because of way too much weight and body and non-sticky tires. Then they buy a buggy and say they never should have built the Jeep that big because they are left with a crappy pseudo buggy and a crappy exploration and street driver Jeep. Other than trying to be cool (mall crawler stuff) it's kinda pointless.
🤔. Maybe we all should just buy rock buggys and Toyota Corollas.

So our goal in life should be practical and boring? Some of us like to have fun and enjoy spending our money, even if it is pointless to you.
I’m also surprised you don’t know what SAS means if you are in the rocks all the time.

Lockers make solid axel on the Bronco much less necessary... Like 99% less necessary.

Also, love some of the responses here.

6g:. Can't wait to see all the mods people do to their Broncos! It's gonna be lit!1!1!!

Also 6g: Ugh, why would somebody do that to a Bronco, it's ugly, useless, terrible, kill it with fire, I am gonna tell you how to spend your money and mod your Bronco. Yeah, thanks but I totally hate it.

Sheesh, if the man wants to climb Mount Everest because he can, let em.
This. Basically this.

Can't wait to see how the SFA swap turns out. Depending on how long I keep the Bronco I just might do it myself.

Interesting.
Very interesting. Just from the engineering aspect of it. Most 4wd people I know are somewhat mechanical and are interested whether they would do it to their own or not.

I’m sure there are a lot of practical mall crawlers out there, but sometimes you do something just to see if you can. You probably learn something along the way. Some guys( and gals) like building with their own hands.

I've been fortunate to wheel with some amazing fabricators. I hope someday to come close. I'm a very god wrench mind you, I've totally rebuilt engines and transmissions myself, but that front axle is a big feat. I have soooo many question. And I love it.

I replaced the worn snow fighter in my 97 f250 HD with a Dana 60. I now need a kidney belt to drive it. Its his Bronco so he can do what ever he wants. I can tell you that as a daily, which 90% of us will use the Bronco for this is a downgrade.
Cool factor 90% drivability 1%
On another note, i have never seen any highly modified vehicle have high miles. In my world I need a vehicle that will rack up miles with little major repair. This Bronco would never last as long as the bone stock model.

It seems like the type of truck you trailer to the trailhead. Not that uncommon. This isn't a highway queen. In fact, it's probably pretty unsafe.

Why? Waste of a Bronco that could have gone to someone who loves it for what it is.
This is consumerism, not altruism. He is free to buy a Bronco and do whatever he wants with it. To him this is his property's highest and best use, and that makes it an automatically correct decision. What could have been for someone else is irrelevant.

What the hell are you talking about? I daily drive a Wrangler TJ on 38s. It has a lot of suspension upgrades. It drives like a dream. Only reason I stopped at 38 was the wheelbase of a TJ is too short to go any bigger.

40s on a long wheelbase like a 4-door Bronco is a highly desirable combo.

I can't stand uninformed opinions. Jeez, man.
