Nicely done man. Was it hard to pop the emblem off? Did you just use plastic pry tools to help remove the emblem?
Not bad, heated it with a hair dryer first then plastic pry tools.

Patiently waiting for OP to show us how he removed the badge without damaging the paint.

Come on OP!! Go from hero to legend in one thread!
Okay, let me try to remember and answer a couple of the questions all at once here.

1. The Bronco is only held on with adhesive. I actually wanted to leave it off, but this is the wife's vehicle and she wanted it back on after I painted it black.
2. To remove both emblems I used a hair dryer to get the adhesive warmed up and soft. Then used plastic trim tools/squeegees to gently pry them up. On the Ford emblem there are two clips, unfortunately I broke one off before I could release it. The clips are kind of overkill anyway since the logo sits in a stamped pocket in the steel and is held with 3M adhesive.
3. I purchased the color matched paint from an auto body supply store. My local store can mix up any color you want and put it in a spray can. It was like $20+ for each can (base and top coat). There is a lot of paint in there though, I already used it to paint the BRONCO grill letters and now this logo, and still have about half a can of each left. The clear coat for the orange I purchase from them as well so I knew it would work together. The adhesion promoter, black, and clear coat for the horse and the center I purchased at Auto Zone for use on projects on my other car, so I already had it. The primer was something I already had sitting around as well.

I know a couple have posted that they like the original Ford emblem. Everyone has different styles and preferences. I typically debadge every vehicle I own and have been doing so since 1993. I like customizing vehicles, I enjoy every car that I own being different from any other car on the road. I like the process and take pride in doing virtually everything myself. I like fabricating parts when I can as well. Some people enjoy a vehicle as it comes from the factory, for me that is just too generic and most of the time automotive designers miss out on things trying to brand stuff and appeal to the masses. I prefer a monochromatic look, so this build will be everything black or cyber orange. I also see a lot of people doing things to their vehicles that I think looks tacky, but I respect and appreciate that they are making an effort to make it their own and are willing to invest the time to do so. Here are a couple pics of the two other mods I have made so far as well. My custom made license plate bracket, took me three tries to get it to fit just right. And my painted color matched BRONCO grill letters. I also took off the modular bumper ends and front crash bars for now, just to see how it would look.

I wanted to completely remove the Ford emblem, however there is a recess in the tailgate and two holes under it so I decided to paint it to match instead. I thought I would share the process in case anyone else wanted to do something similar. There are two clips and some 3M adhesive holding the emblem on. Once you get it off you have to drill out the sonic welded posts to get the blue pieces separated from the chrome. Then just some light surface prep and you can spray with adhesion promoter, primer, paint, and clear coat. The Cyber orange is a tri-coat paint so there is an orange base coat, then a transparent top coat with all the yellow metal flake in it, followed by the gloss clear. I used some JB weld for plastic to secure every thing back together. Then installed with new 3M adhesive. As You can see in the photos I did break one clip taking it out so I just put 3M tape in that area as well. Turned out really nice and better than just covering the middle with a sticker since all the chrome is gone.

Last week I also removed the Bronco and used the adhesion promoter, primer, black paint, and clear coat on it. Then after a wet sand and polish I reinstalled it with new 3M adhesive as well.

For painting the front letters, I assume it just requires a lot of masking? Or do the letters come off?

The emblem comes apart so no masking is required.

Sorry, not the emblem but the front BRONCO letters
The grill comes off easily with four bolts and some clips. Then you have to drill out the heat stakes on the letters to remove them from the grill. Its pretty simple, a lot easier than trying to mask them because they are deep. Then I just glued them back on at the heat steak posts.

Appreciate your time answering folks questions! How did you line the bronco logo back up in the factory spot?

I intended to put a masking tape box around it, but my wife insisted on driving it while it was off. So I just eyeballed it from the before photos I had taken.
