Looks good. If you used steel for the cross bars, you could get rid of that middle brace underneath. The nice thing about the plastic is that it can be flexed to fit in between the roll bar for installation, allowing it to be one solid piece. That and it is waterproof since we keep the top...
It was when I did it back in 2021, actually I was the first person to do a tailgate mount in a Bronco. Now there are hundreds of others with it there. Even a couple businesses selling boxes for it.
I used rivet nuts in the top three locations and for the bottom slots, I machined custom "T" nuts. I thought I still had photos, but I can't find them. Back when I did this, it was the first tailgate mounted sub on a Bronco anywhere, so it's possible that since then someone has found an easier...
I installed my amp in here as well. My install how to probably didn't come up since it was from back in 2021. When the top is off there is a small opening where water could get in, but it isn't very large so odds are it wouldn't be much.
Also I found that I got weird feedback using the...
Originally i considered disconnecting the seat latch cable or putting a couple bars across behind the seats, but it's honestly difficult to get the seat down and reach into the back without climbing up onto the step or door sill. I figure anyone willing to do that will figure out how to defeat...
No, I only put this on when I take the top off for the summer. That is how I was able to use the soft top mounting locations to attach the cover. Here is a current photo.
At the front there are 90 degree brackets that slide over the soft top attachment point locating pin and then are held in place with a bolt into the soft top mount point. This is then attached to the front cross bar.
At the rear the aluminum toe clamps pinch the soft top latch points between...
Sorry for the delayed response. I am in Bourbonnais, about an hour south of Chicago. I also have these listed on FB Marketplace if you want to contact me through messenger.
Did not need to do anything to the supports. The cover worked awesome all summer long. I removed it a couple weeks ago to put the soft top back on for the winter. Honestly, I don't think I will mess with making it hinge open next summer, since we never really needed it to move this year...
Set of five Black Diamond take offs. In great condition, only used for 6000 miles (five tire rotation at 4,500). Tread depths range from .444 to .494. OEM lug nuts included, no TPMS. Pick up only in Illinois. $1,000
A great inexpensive way to upgrade your base or BB.
Agree on the Cooper. I put the 35 x 12.5 /20 Cooper Evolution MT on our Bronco and they are actually quieter on the road than the factory General Grabbers were. Have not had a chance to test them off road, but so far really happy with them.
Just remove and paint them. The stickers only cover the front flat portion of the letters. Your local auto paint supply store can mix you up a couple cans (one base coat and one top coat, plus a can of clear coat) of the CO. If you carefully drill out the heat staked tabs then it is easy to...
It could be that unpainted area is where the door is held as it goes through the paint line. Actually it could be where the fuel lid is held during painting? I will have to look at the paint jigs for that, we make all of that assembly where I work.
The handle area of the tailgate is the one...
Yes here are some pictures. For now it is fixed, but I may make it hinges with quick latches in the back in the future.
It provides some security for the back and helped the bass substantially.
