My Bronco is built and sitting in "dirt mountain" along with thousands of others. The solution is so simple, it is amazing that Ford hasn't thought of it. All that needs to be done is to ship the vehicles immediately. If the customer wants to take delivery let them. Have the company that made the defective tops direct ship the new top to the dealer. The customer is happy because he has his Bronco. The dealer is happy because he has the profit from the sale. Ford is happy because they didn't have to do anything to solve the problem and the top company has only a small logistic problem. Come on Ford, wake up!

All these “solution” threads popping up. Ford’s probably reading all of these going “why didn’t we think of that!” followed by a standard smack of the forehead.

The smack on the forehead is a good idea! A real hard smack!

You can keep posting the same stuff, isn’t going to change anything? Good luck with your lawsuit.

MIC tops are large and expensive to move. They wont be willingly shipping out a bunch of defective tops just to lose their asses on the replacements shipping costs.
Please see above solution!

" Have the company that made the defective tops direct ship the new top to the dealer "

That is still just shipping the tops around the country - the only solution here is to try to pass the buck to Webasto. No company is going to step up to front the astronomical costs involved here. Its a pipe dream. As much as we hate on Webasto, it was ultimately Fords design at fault. It was likely Fords fault this entire time.

I'm right here with you guys.. Vin and all. But lets be realistic.

I'm shocked that ford is going send out new tops for the rigs in the wild... It's the right thing to do but I would put them at the end of the line instead of first or replace them on a "as needed " basis...

WHY HAS NO ONE PUT THIS SOLUTION FORWARD YET?!?!

How’s going to call Ford and tell them? Someone should probably let them know soon, so they don’t continue with the solution they came up with.
Now that is a great idea. Everyone call the Bronco marketing team at 800 334 4375.

It’s not an actual solution, you’ve read all the reasons they aren’t going to ship out more tops than they need to yet you continue with trash ideas. Webasto is in the business of shipping tops down the street, not the country. I doubt even Ford had logistics of shipping tops figured out before it all went bad.

Webasto has to ship the tops anyway. Yes it will probably cost them more. That is what happens when you build a defective product. Recalls are always expensive.

Can’t have have the publicity of these tops as they start to really fail in elements all over. Right now no ones has actually delaminated to a point where it looks more than “cosmetic”

It’s easier and more cost effective to send the Bronco with it’s new top. They are saving the owner and themselves money. I know this sucks, but it was the right thing to do. I don’t even have a build or vin, and I would gladly switch spots with many of you.
