Im not on dirt mountain and my top actual seems pretty good, but heavy water exposure and humidity are the main driving force behind the deterioration. I can reassure @Ford Motor Company and everyone else. Between now and earliest possibly replacement time frame, it’s gonna be exposed to a good deal of rain, but mostly humidity over near or above 90% almost daily between now and then. How bad cosmetically will it look? More importantly could it lead to function issues as the looks deteriorate, and what is the solution if it does?So looking at the FAQs further, basically those of us who are built 2 doors but sitting at Dirt Mountain don't even qualify for the extra $1100 worth of Ford Pass points? I feel like the 2 door folks are the ones who have been screwed the most by all of this and we don't even get the "I'm sorry" peck on the cheek like the dual/mod/FE folks get.
Im not so much worried about the points (don’t get me wrong, I’ll use them if available) but those nice door storage bags would be real nice. The top is easily stored safely in my garage and could survive a scar or two, but that painted door? Young boys roam around inside my house so not safe there. The wife wasn’t happy when she woke up from her nap snuggled up to the driver door in our bed because it was only place safe at the moment. My dog ain’t the brightest, so I know he would purposely walk all over them in the garage if I used a blanket for protection. Plus, why should my blanket be punished. I like the bag for the front panels, but honest I would half expect them to scratch anyway. They are rarely visible, but the doors.
