Yes. A guess would be great, so I can plan around a build date. It gets pushed, it gets pushed. But as an Army retiree, I'm big on backwards planning. So Ford not even giving me that is annoying.
This is the part that makes me scratch my head a little. You want to plan around a date - I get that. But if the date you are given is based on wildly inaccurate, faulty data, wouldn't it be better at this point to wait another month or two or three and get a better picture of what's actually happening?

Ford giving wildly faulty projections based on data that is completely unreliable seems like a recipe for disaster. If the last couple of months have taught us anything it's that none of us should plan around the dates we've been given - and that's coming from a guy who's been given an actual build date (quite a few of them, actually) not just a random estimate.

I totally understand wanting to hear something. I just think the reality of the current situation makes it next to impossible for Ford, and the efforts of people who would build the model to put that estimate together are better deployed trying to add value to fixing this thing, imho.

My bronco was scheduled for 6/15 and it is still “in production” I’m honestly starting to get annoyed. I don’t know how I feel about getting what is supposed to be a “new” car that’s just been sitting in a lot for 2 months now…

Mojave > Rubicon in the Gladiator. It's too long to crawl up rocks but gd the ride in the Mojave is so good
Would be nice if you could option the disconnect and front locker in the Mojave.

That's my late June build, four rows over and 19 back. That's the frustrating part, built for 42 days and counting
I'm curious if there is a clause in the Ford/Webasto contract along the lines of "once it leaves the factory, the warranty for the top is on Fords dime. Before it leaves the factory, it's on Webastos dime."

@PREMiERdrum any thoughts on this?

Would be a good reason these MIC builds are being kept.
My 7/15 Blend says it shipped, but the lack of any freight information in the dealer system makes me think mine is in there as well.

I read no 4D hardtops until next year , 2D will continue at slower pace .
tell me I'm wrong !
I wonder how many customers have received perfect hardtops without any flaws? At least if we start seeing more of those, it will show the basic design and ability to manufacture is doable. Otherwise a concern is if the top is kind of fatally flawed in terms of mass producing. That would require a lot more time and work to resolve.

Do you have a VIN and build date for your FE order yet? If it isn't produced yet, would you want it be produced with a bad MIC top and at least shipped to you to have the top replaced once they get it figured out? Or would you be ok with your FE being produced in August of this year with a 2021 VIN not getting to you until next year and sit for 5 to 6 months at the plant waiting for the new MIC top?

The option of ford not having MIC tops till next year, and also holding all MIC top units built since the end of June until they get replacement ones for them is ridiculous. Just ship the bad ones (as long as they are functional) and at least get the product to the consumer. Fix them under warranty later.

Yeah, i understand your "or what?" comment , and i don't have any recourse, but it eventually gets to the point they need to get units to consumers IMO. What if they can't produce your FE this year as they promised? Will you wait it out since you don't have any recourse, or would you want some kind of middle ground to be found where they build it with a soft top and ship it to you this year and give you the hard top next year?
I would gladly take a soft top FE and credit me for a top when one becomes available as a dealer accessory. We s add lol got the email telling you if you switched to soft, they’d move you up, but that apparently isn’t true for FE.

Your worst case guess is beyond best case possible. Less than five months for get that done is not going to happen.
I don’t think they’ll resume producing anything other than FE’s for the rest of the year. I think everyone’s non FE will get pushed to MY22 including everything sitting in purgatory and Ford is not shipping out any of them until they can produce a top with no issues.
They will pick through the last 12’000 pieces of crap Webasto has shipped them to find acceptable MIC tops for the FE’s and that’s it until another supplier is up and running and 💯 .
Why do you think everyone’s that is “built and in purgatory” or “scheduled but their date keeps getting pushed” is not moving?? They’ve decided to mothball them all until the tops are sorted. It’ll be February 2022 before anyone sees anything other than an FE go out.

What does everyone thinks gonna happen to a soft top badlands (with 2.7 and squatch) reserved 7/23? I know Ford of promising FE so that takes the 2.7/squatch/sway bar, but how do the chances look for a 21?
I don’t think you’ll see a recent build like this until 2023 to be honest. Once they’re up and running it’ll take all of next year to catch up on orders. You might get it earlier because of the soft top but slim chance I reckon.

If they don’t have the tops to replace them and they’re not shipping out soft tops in place instead, what other options do they have? How long will it take Ford to get an alternate supplier up and running? At least 5-6 months. I don’t see what other choice is there.. Hence no email update until they break the bad news and everyone just continuing to get delayed.
But you’ll get a nice Swag pkg soon to soften the blow lol

There are no good choices. But your proposition is untenable. The MIC issues are all cosmetic & subjective. If Ford can't replace them in a timely manner, I'm betting they ship as-is.

I don’t think Ford wants that bad press.. As mentioned earlier, a headline of “Ford replaced thousands of New Bronco roofs” is all that the majority of people will see.
Most Ford customers aren’t on here or logging into their Ford account every day to check the status of their New Bronco. We’re such a small % of sales in the big picture. But the press would love that headline!

These are very expensive trucks, not a bunch of E.T. the video game cartridges. They are not going to just scrap them and start over, or make people wait till the next model year to get them.
