If they stop producing the MIC tops till next year, they just need to either ship my bad MIC unit from the badbatch holding lot or put a soft top on it and give me a new top next summer. Done.
Or what? Lol

Perfect sense thank you.
This bugs the shit outta me. Yes we have the forum to get insider scoops, rumors etc. What about others who aren't on forums? Ford has basically said thanks for the money nerds and ghosted them. Wtf? Rather than sending out stupid win an f-150 spam email send out something relevant.

exactly, and all the Ford haters here should just cancel their reservation and go get something else. Ford doesn't have a crystal ball to tell them what chip maker might shut down because of Covid or a fire or who knows what. If you don't think they do anything they can to get your money, you're not paying attention. These things are not something you just buy of the rack at the next supplier. I just have to laugh at all these calls for daily updates and 'transparency' and what not, you don't get that anywhere, let alone in an environment where nobody knows what happens tomorrow.
You speak the truth. Look at how many liked your post. People just skip right by when it's something they don't want to hear.

.

Would you rather have them send you a projection that is mostly a guess,
Yes. A guess would be great, so I can plan around a build date. It gets pushed, it gets pushed. But as an Army retiree, I'm big on backwards planning. So Ford not even giving me that is annoying.

To my knowledge, none of the purgatory holds are waiting on chips. MAP hasn't built any Broncos without chips awaiting further installation as other Ford plants have. I've heard of some proposals but nothing that's started yet.

No, emphatically. Hasn't happened, isn't happening, won't happen.

Ford Bronco Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK) 7EE157EE-E0A5-4029-A5D1-9D1EA3B7D0B4

That's my late June build, four rows over and 19 back. That's the frustrating part, built for 42 days and counting

Or what? Lol
Do you have a VIN and build date for your FE order yet? If it isn't produced yet, would you want it be produced with a bad MIC top and at least shipped to you to have the top replaced once they get it figured out? Or would you be ok with your FE being produced in August of this year with a 2021 VIN not getting to you until next year and sit for 5 to 6 months at the plant waiting for the new MIC top?

The option of ford not having MIC tops till next year, and also holding all MIC top units built since the end of June until they get replacement ones for them is ridiculous. Just ship the bad ones (as long as they are functional) and at least get the product to the consumer. Fix them under warranty later.

Yeah, i understand your "or what?" comment , and i don't have any recourse, but it eventually gets to the point they need to get units to consumers IMO. What if they can't produce your FE this year as they promised? Will you wait it out since you don't have any recourse, or would you want some kind of middle ground to be found where they build it with a soft top and ship it to you this year and give you the hard top next year?

I'll wait. I wouldn't be caught dead in that soft top. I also wouldn't expect them to replace thousands of bad tops just to get vehicles in customers driveways. The cost would be astronomical and the amount of bad press it would generate from the majority of uneducated buyers outside of this forum would be detrimental.

What does everyone thinks gonna happen to a soft top badlands (with 2.7 and squatch) reserved 7/23? I know Ford of promising FE so that takes the 2.7/squatch/sway bar, but how do the chances look for a 21?

I can see that. I agree with you on the soft top by the way. Since mine already has the MIC on it, just give it to me and don't swap a soft top onto it. Lol.

I'll have to just assume you know more about the cost of delivering units now and replacing the tops at a later time vs. Letting the units sit until they have good tops. My thought was that the cost of the loyalty/brand hit on the front end by making reservation holders (your brand base) wait for such a long period of time before getting their units could be equal to or greater than just shipping the units to the brand base and then spending the extra funds to show you are then willing to fix it later and ALSO get the units that people have already waited 15 months their broncos asap.

Most consumers are completely uneducated about the products they buy, so yeah, it may be better for ford to just say they are waiting to send out units until they have tops that pass QC instead of a headline later that reads "ford replacing thousands of tops on less than year old broncos". Morons would have a field day with that and the brand hit would be to a wider audience. Who the f knows. But yeah, I'm gonna be fine with whatever because Ford has me in a corner.

When Ford says they have chips for 60k builds, they mean that they have suppliers committed to getting them the 60k chips. But then when the supplier doesn't deliver...

First time catching a still photo of the lot. My CO Badlands build is right there by the portable lights. Ugh.

Stop building Broncos until MIC top issues are 100% worked out , expected to resume production around Xmas, new year
Your worst case guess is beyond best case possible. Less than five months for get that done is not going to happen.

I think based on the emojis they are saying Ford is going to stop building hard tops for a time until they are 100% ready which means no 2 doors or hardtop more doors Until next year.
I read no 4D hardtops until next year , 2D will continue at slower pace .
tell me I'm wrong !
