All we can do is sit back and wait folks , im start looking for a plan b option just in case my car I have now won’t make I hope it does . There nothing out there that tickle. My fancy like the Bronco . Wranglers are horrible on the road imo , i’M see what Toyota brings to the rumored 2023 4 runner . (I’m pushed back to MY23 for colored tops )

So....what we know - or think we know about Purgatory broncos:

  • they are not sequestered waiting for chips
  • they (at least the MICs) might have tops that already failed QC, and are awaiting replacement
  • there were posts last week mentioning top 'repair', but that implies batches of broncos being repaired & released every day...I don't think we're seeing evidence of that
  • the June Bronco deliveries that got the 'flawed-top' ball rolling mentioned tops deteriorating (snakeskin) over a few weeks time...perhaps these parked broncos have NOT been through QC yet & Ford is going to inspect them after 6-7 weeks
  • perhaps they are missing a commodity that is common to all broncos

Any ideas to add? What do you folks suspect?

I’m going to test drive my plan b on Wednesday. A gladiator Mojave, well its between that and a Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel but those are impossible to find on the lot to test drive. It’s the only other option that I am interested in.

The 3.5/auto in the Tacoma is just not a good combo for a truck.
The ranger tremor is more than the Gladiator, I’m also not really a big fan of it.
The 4runner is meh.
The GX is too expensive.
The Land Cruiser is way too expensive.
The GM twins are well GM’s.

I am also leaning toward the Jeep’s cause I can get 8% under invoice and delivered by the end of Q1 22 even with the model year change..

With my April 21 res/order, I am guessing 2023 at this point which is way too long. 2nd/3rd Q 2022 would have been fine, but its looking more and more like a 2023.

They need to allow us to modify our reservation again. I’ll take my bronco with no chip. I’m sure there’s guna be an after market chip! 🤔😅

Do you know what the backlog issue is? My dealer sees that my Bronco was "produced" on July 15th. On August 1st was at a receiving ramp for the transport company and it hasn't moved, no updates since. I spoke to the transport company who told me that it's still at MAP with a "status hold" from Ford on it. They don't know when it will be released for them to pick it up.
I'm a 6-22 got a recieved by cassens transport 7-27 ramp 4g. We might be parked next to each other. I just hope it means we're soon to be shipped and not destined for some over flow lot 😞. I dm'd premierdrum about it (lol) I'm not sure who I'll hear from first my dealer or his reply after he gets through the mountain of messages in his inbox.

Mojave > Rubicon in the Gladiator. It's too long to crawl up rocks but gd the ride in the Mojave is so good

I bet that 80% of the "cancellations" are dealers who used dealership personnel to place reservations in anticipation of high demand so they would have something for inventory to sell. And those same dealers knew soon after the debut of the Bronco they were going to charge ADM on those same units.

Once those same dealers understood the upcoming commodity constraints (well before orders were due by March 19th). They also made them as buildable units moving themselves to the front of the line.
This 100% I saw my dealers order book when they showed me my VIN and just about every employee had their names on the list for at least 1 Bronco.

Bumping this for those just arriving. Let's take care of this man.
I’m in. Happy to do it, Ross. He’s a teacher (they all qualify as heros in my book) and from what I can tell, a cross between the Dalai lama and animal from the muppets, and whom I’ve personally really appreciated the info and insight. Look for a little somethin!

Perhaps it was a non-event precisely because so much effort was put into fixing the problem before 1/1/2000? 🤔
Banks new about the four digit year thing the first time they did a 30 mortgage after 1970.

Haven't seen it asked, does Ford have a plan for Broncos built and sitting for the latest 30+ days? They should be sent to lots and allow the customer an option to opt into a 2022. I never signed up for a stale vehicle and even with warranty its going to be a nightmare...
The plan is radio silence and they are doing quite well in that area!

it may just be that the planned volume and availability of the dealer stock 4 door soft top units is quickly trending downward.
In all honesty, FE reservation holders are the only ones who should feel super confident about much of anything at this point.
@PREMiERdrum is there a plan to build soft top 4 foor FE and WT ?
My dealer has a soft top WT ( shown ) and I heard of a guy taking delivery of a soft top FE.
