OP, the truth is this is the world in which we live now. Influencers, YouTube content masters, etc. get the perks, get the fame, get the insane income in some cases.
It's free marketing for the companies who provide content/products.
I'm not sweating it.
Each day I wake up is a gift and a day closer to delivery day.
Old man once said "Not my dog, not my boot." when asked why he didn't step in and grab a boot a dog was running by with, as someone somewhere would be missing it.
As hokey as it is, I use that analogy a lot in life and it keeps me from stabbing everyone on the planet some days.

Wasn’t it reported that these early builds (Mar-May3) would be used for promo work and sent to media/influencers? I doubt they have as much impact as the 3000+ post-Job 1 priority orders...

I hate that they are called "influencers." Who do the influence? And how? I go the Youtube to learn stuff, like how to change a radiator or check the IP configuration from command prompt. I don't watch YouTube to have some random dude in a flannel shirt tell me what to buy.

That having been said, I have a YouTube channel. Can I be an influencer?

Not upset, are you projecting? Searching out fact does not mean there was/is a lie in a situation. Conflating two issues there that I did not.

Companies have used influencers for as long as there have been influencers. I don't understand why people are surprised by something like this. Search youtube for "unboxing" videos, search for product reviews, and there is a strong chance they got a product before the consumers, at a discount, for free, or for limited free use. Hell, movie reviewers get to see movies before all of us.

Exactly where did I say I was "lied" to in this thread. Think you may be confused some how.

It was likely always part of a greater marketing strategy from Ford. They have used YouTube influencers this whole time, no reason they wouldn't rollout to them first and continue the strategy.
