Ok, they really need to get these Bronco's out there. People have run out of stupid questions to ask.

I'd not worry about it. All you need is two wrenches to break just about any padlock, someone wants to steal your doors while you're off wheeling, they will steal your doors. Put them in a tent or behind a bush or under a tarp if concerned, but might as well try to lock down the entire campsite. Impossible.

Is door stealing a thing with Jeeps? Or is middle of nowhere campsite theft really a thing? There might always be some asshole stealing your stuff, but people leave all kinds of stuff out in the open while camping and I have rarely heard of any theft happening.

If some jerk is out and about to steal stuff from campers, they probably have a battery powered angle grinder with them too.

Have good insurance I guess, other than that go out and have fun. I prefer not to live in fear of 'what if' scenarios. But that's just me, I don't even own a gun, nor do I want one. Worked ok for the last 55 years
I'm with Daktari.
Look, if someone wants to steal what you have, they're going to steal it and all the deterrents you can muster will do nothing more than delay the inevitable, or piss them off so they trash what you have.
Even those Jeep doors with the frames...gone if someone really wants them. A hardened steel cable or chain can be cut in seconds with a $30 pair of cutters from the hardware store.
If you doubt that, read some of the bike (as in bicycle) forums where people go to extreme lengths, unsuccessfully I might add, to keep people from stealing their shit.
If you really think there's a good chance of vandals stealing your stuff, it's best not to leave it behind and camp/vacation somewhere with fewer assholes..

...and then there's those bags for the doors so they can be strapped in the back. Yeah, I know; only on the 4 door, and another reason to consider one. Food for Thought.

I can't believe I just read this thread. Who's going to travel off the beaten path to steal Bronco doors?

I'm asking for normal state and federal campgrounds
I've had friends loose fishing poles and bikes.
It's not a big deal just checking if someone has an easy answer how to cable the doors to a tree

Forget master criminal and think more "bored teen"

Lil 15 year old chownd wouldn't have stolen them but there's a 50:50 chance that I would have moved them to make myself and friends laugh if we came across a set of car doors in the wilderness.

The question would be do we just turn them in the opposite direction, move to the left 20 feet, or hidden them behind a tree? God, I was a little shit.

I absolutely and certainly wouldn't do it now... but the mental image of someone finding their doors in slightly the wrong place while in the woods it's still something I find funny

People that worry about this stuff have never seen a Milwaukee cordless angle grinder. If someone wants your doors even chained to a tree they will get them.

Just use the key fob to lock them. Or take off the cupholder... Nobody wants a door without a cupholder (apparently).

But in an seriousness find clever ways that works for you. The Bronco is super modular so fender flares, body panels, etc... All can be removed/stolen and put on blocks faster than other cars. If you have the top off they can unlock your car and then proceed to remove the doors... So just get good insurance and worry less.
