If you're a poll hater, skip this post. :) I thought I'd give people a chance to lay their bets on the recent 3.0 V6 rumor.

I think the Warthog is going to get the 3.5, if only because the power difference between the 2.7 and 3.0 doesn't seem significant enough to make it stand out. If I'm wrong, it's because Ford doesn't want the Bronco stepping on Raptor toes. But Ford could always detune the 3.5 slightly if it was worried about that.

I could have sworn that I read a long time ago that the 2.7L was temporary, and that the 3.0L was going to replace it after the first year or two. Don't ask me to look it up because I have no clue where I read it, but I remember it being from a somewhat reputable source, though.

I would vote not 2022 / 3.0 available on Warthog and Hybrid, not any of the other trims.

My vote/bet is not just the 3.0, but the 3.0 hybrid will land in the Bronco (Warthog and possibly a milder hybrid "special" model). It won't replace the 2.7 or be available on every trim level. Same HP and more toque than the 3.5L EB. 3.5 is a different engine family and makes the process of fitting it to the Bronco more complicated. 3.0 is newer tech and the Bronco tow rating/expectations the the 3.5 is already well suited for, don't match the Bronco as well as the 3.0H. When I got next to the Warthog, I could not tell if it had any hybrid hardware, but it has been spending a lot of time at the Electrification and Performance center in Allen Park.

"Over at Lincoln, in the Aviator Grand Touring, total system output with the 3.0-liter heart comes to 494 hp and 630 lb-ft, on top of 21 miles of pure electric driving"

Now this is fun stuff to guess on! Bench racers, start your engines! (BTW, I still think the Raptor R will have the 6.7 "Baby Godzilla")

That's what the new v8 in the F150 Raptor is for. Compete against other brands and make room for Bronco and Ranger to pick up a 3/3.5 to outshine their competitors too.

Voted for the 2nd option... simply because I’d prefer the torque potential of a longer stroked engine in the bronco... unlike my old school days, I preferred the 289 over the 302 but that was more for RPM potential in hot rods

I don't get the poll hate in this forum. I like seeing where people are on stuff without having to read through 20 pages. Poll threads are exactly the same as any other thread that prompts discussion except with the added interaction of getting to vote and seeing a nice, quick, condensed view of how people feel about something 🤷‍♂️ plus people who don't typically post are still likely to vote so we get to see where more people stand vs the 10 people with the most outspoken extreme views going back and forth.

Anyway lol I think and kinda hope that the 3.0 will just be for the Warthog so I don't have to wish I waited for a 22 or something to get one. Kinda feels like I just said "if I can't have one you can't either" haha

I thought it had been tested with the 3.0 EB? A 4DR Bronco with a 2.7 was very close in a sand drag race with the Raptor so that right there tells me that the Bronco will not get the 3.5 EB, the 3.0 EB is more than enough. Also something about the 3.0 being Hybridized at some point or it's able to be.
