Reservation Cut off date/ deliveries into 2023?

Hello all. As some of you know already my wife and I are having a house built and our anticipated closing date is May 31st. With building during the winter here in Oklahoma an August closing date is more likely haha. With that being said, we reserved on July 14th, however, we cannot take delivery before closing on the house for obvious mortgage process reasons. Also we still have 2-3 years left to pay on my car and the wife was thinking we might just cancel our current reservation and wait to make a new one until the cut off date which I think is January 14th? Please correct me if I’m wrong. If we were to reserve on the last day for reservations, I’m guessing that would probably push our delivery into late winter of 2022 or early 2023? Thoughts? Thanks to anyone that offers advice in advance.

To answer ur question,
There was a article July 25 speculating that reserving after that day it is about an 18 month wait for a bronco,
Reserving July 2020 plus 18 months is approx. January 2022
so technically if we just do random inputs, just do reservation January 2021 plus 18 months,
That gets u to July of 2022
Don’t quote me just mere speculation here!

I would talk to your dealer about delaying your order or asking about late availability before canceling unless you know you do not want one within the next year.

Where are you building at? I'm building currently and should be closing the first week in December in Cambria Heights, it's a Jones address with a Edmond School district.

I haven't seen anything to project that kind of a backlog. Ford's site just says the preorders may go into 2022... which is a long ways from going into 2023.

Right down the street! Cambria heights is basically two miles south of Pops, on 150th and basically post.

Ford is estimating 70% conversion rates of reservations, I think it will be half that if they are lucky.

If you think 70% of the people in front of you are going to do an actual order, then a new reservation now might not get delivered until early 2022. (guessing 190K reservations, averaging 5000 a week (Ford indicated that they could do more units units a week than that) x 0.70 is 27 weeks and that is from when delivery starts in June per Ford, That goes to Mid December 2021.

that is based on Fords statements and conservative numbers. Probably worst case.

If I am right and it is 35% conversion rate, everyone will have their Bronco in time to drive it to the in-laws for Thanksgiving next year.

Obviously delays can happen, but I pulled about 2000 per week average from Ford statement on production capability to account for those.

I figure about 95% who order will get a 2021 and the last 5% get a 2022MY, but delivered in 2021.

Another consideration on order conversion..I myself have two reservations but only going with one order. I placed them on 7/14 and 8/11. I know I’ve seen a lot of people say that they placed multiple reservations. How many of them will actually order two Broncos? ?

The Wayne MI plant has a capacity of 5300 units per week according to internet sources I checked. The Wayne plant also builds the Ranger. Figuring a 65/45 split Bronco to Ranger, I figure 200,000 build slots will take 15 months. Considering Ford makes higher profit on higher trim levels, the more expensive trims will get priority. Base Broncos probably easily fall into mid 2022 is my guess.

My advise for now is to just wait and decide what to do in January. We don't know what or if Ford's going to tell us about ordering by December, but I'm hopeful that we'll have some idea of their plan. We don't know if 2022 orders will generate extra allocation or not, so it could affect pricing if you cancel and reorder.

Also looks like you might be looking for really late and I'm not sure that will happen or not, I'm also not sure that we'll know by February.

Another thing to do is talk to your dealer. Dealers can adjust reservations so they aren't in order, I have one that doesn't want theirs until next winter or later so I'll be bumping others ahead of theirs to get to them to that point. I'm guessing that the orders that don't get built as 21's will be given an opportunity to cancel between model years since color or option they wanted might not be available.

There might even people who have more than 2....I know my conversion rate will only be 25%

If the dealers can adjust reservations so they aren't in order, then what is to stop them from bumping someone who made a reservation today up to the top because it is a friend or they are willing to pay ADM?

MY21 cutoff was Sept 18. If you get res after Sept 18 you will be MY22. Waiting won't matter.

Or, just get a second res now, and wait to cancel the first res. Your second res will be for MY22
