Glad you weren’t burnt from all the fires!

This is on my To-Do list.
What were the trail conditions? The only info I can find is from last year.
Thanks much!

I was in junior high school when Stroppe and Jones began to take the Baja races by storm and I became a lifelong Ford guy and lover of the Bronco. As a kid, I dreamed of racing the Baja 1000. Then I grew up and life went on. When they decided to bring the Bronco back, I was elated and signed up for a Badlands with Squatch package. that was 2021 and the delays resulted in my receiving a Golden Ticket for a Raptor. And incredibly the dealer I purchased it from sold it for sticker at a time when the first Raptor that I saw auctioned sold for $209,000.00. So without the dealer doing the right thing, I never would have been able to afford it back then. Mine is Code Orange and although many people would think it dumb to do, I put the original style "Baja by Stroppe" decals on the area of the Raptor where all other Broncos have their trim decals located. I did it to honor Stroppe and to the heritage of Baja racing that is embodied in the Raptor. I guess when it comes to the Bronco, its racing lineage and the way that Ford did right by the re-make, some kids never grow up!
If you ever get up to Colorado and are able to see Wayne, he has a Raptor done up in the Stroppe livery. If you never do, be sure to follow Becca on FB. She has been previewing the contents of Billy (yes, that is how he was referred to back then) Stroppe's garage toolbox. It is much more than tools, but rather a time capsule toolbox stuffed with mementos of the glory days.

The fires are on the north side of 90. There are a few trails over there I really want to try, but I’m not wanting to get in the way and a lot of the area is now closed off. Roaring Ridge is safely away from that, but was a bit smoky yesterday.

You take Yakima Pass to get to the Roaring Ridge Lookout trail. Yakima pass is a very wide, well maintained, gravel road. Once you start on Roaring ridge it’s more dirt and loose fist sized rocks. There are some ruts in the uphill portions, and a bit of a larger rut right at the very last stretch. Nothing that wasn’t easily passable in a Bronco. You’ll have zero issues in a SAS Badlands drivability wise. It’s just your level of appetite for some pinstriping. The trail is very narrow in quite a few spots. Most of it is softer branches and brush. I maybe have a few more minor permanent β€œmemories” on the mirrors and fender flares.

Many thanks for the info!
this is the summer I was going to snoop around north of there too, but … the fire maps online show this a no-go for sure. πŸ˜–
The best luck to you on your adventures!

I do not understand four door stroppe.
I also don't much understand stroppe sales to the uninitiated(except for the v6/2door thing).
Other than paint what does a 4dr stroppe have to offer over any other four door?

4Door Stroppe has all off-road features offered by Ford. 35’s from the factory. Fox shocks. Lockers front and rear. Sway bar disconnect. Trail turn assist. And more.

On some models. Sasquatch package. The 4 door Stroppe has a 10k appearance package. 3 paint colors plus vinyl wraps. It’s not for everyone.
I must be in bizarro world seeing your comment(s) exchange with @ducksface . You do realize he has a Stroppe?

I was hoping to get these on today, but there is always delays, like forgetting to install tpms sensors. No biggie. Balancing, one ended up 4oz, 2 are 2oz, one took nothing. Excellent.
