That’s a BIG read, but very useful! I’m looking forward to digging down into imbedded links. Fortunately it validates my approach (mostly).

Just installed your UCAs, alignment lockouts and replaced the top hat bearings about six weeks ago. Now I’ve got the rear ultra flex arms sitting in the box waiting to go on in a couple weeks.

How long do see the life of the UCA FK uniball, and the FK rod ends on the tie rods, UCA and panhard bar? Any recommendations on interim cleaning and any periodic lubrication (with appropriate product)? I came home from the Rubicon (with its granite silt) and got some squeaking going on.

TIA

Thanks. I have a badlands not a raptor. One of those brackets on mine took a hit and is slightly bent.

Couple questions for you @GregFoutz

  • Do you guys offer any guidance or videos on changing the ride height sensors to recalibrate after installing springs?
  • The bump stop kit stroke pad seems to come loose pretty rapidly. The steel quickly wears its way into the aluminum of the LCA and jiggles around. This is with the hardware fully tightened. Someone mentioned to me that you guys have some sort of shim piece that can be added to address that but I haven't been able to track down what that is.
Cheers

Yea we have a shim kit for the lower mounts. Just call the shop and the guys can get you a set. 480-718-9800. We never made independent part numbers for those so they have to do it by hand.

Squeaking can happen with those rod ends. This spray is at most NAPA's and works great for me.

I have taken my Foutz long travel down to Baja and KOH every year and I cant kill them (yet). Its been like 2 years.

Yea good point Jason. Thanks.

I also frequently use TRIFLOW to lubricate the bearings. It has teflon in the lubrication which helps restore the teflon liners in the bearings. You can buy it from autozone and a bunch of places. its easy to get but here are a couple of links below. The only difference in this is that its a wet oil lubricant not a dry one so it can attract dust / dirt but it penetrates well into the bearing.

Thanks for the link, I’ll use this in the future.

i got the wheel off yesterday and started to pull the tie rod off the spindle, spindle was slightly loose. Tightened that and no squeaks/creaks.

I thought the raptor was supposed to be the big upgrade ??
Now we are upgrading the upgrade ???? 🤔🤔
Welcome to the world of 'Car Guy' young Padawan.
Now pick which variant of the tribe you prefer:
  • OEM Purist / Garage Queen (The factory knows best, despite a thousand compromises)
  • Mall Crawler / Coffee Club / Car Show (Assumes PPF stops bullets)
  • Rock Crawler (you like replacing CV joints and may have a mullet)
  • Overlander (Going 30mph on gravel is adventure and you carry a chainsaw and two espresso makers)
  • Desert Runner (Outrunning your demons is the only time the world slows down)
