Is it possible to own a Bronco without a broken windshield?

This crack slowly worked it’s way straight across the bottom to the passenger a-pillar. Been putting off replacing for well over a year waiting for the inevitable new crack. I don’t even know what my windshield deductible is.

I totally get the “why replace it just to crack another one?” logic. Especially after you’ve managed to live with that one for over a year.

Whenever you do replace it, that’s actually the perfect time to think about protecting the new glass. Starting with a brand new, damage free windshield gives you the best opportunity to avoid getting right back into that replacement cycle.

I've done 4 windshields on Jeeps in the last 12 years. I've only had the bronco for about 2 months.

Like the Jeeps, I will do nothing until it actually happens. I will then apply a resin repair kit. I won't actually have it replaced unless the crack spreads.

Though my Jeep only costs $150 to replace. So if I replace one on the Bronco, that one will likely have some kind of film protection.

At least with Jeeps, they are now offerring OEM gorilla glass windshields. That might be a good option, though haven't heard of that being available OEM or aftermarket.

A non-cracked windshield is a temporary condition. Easily resolved by sharing the freeways around Phoenix with dump trucks full of rock and no cover on their loads.

As the windshield protection people, we feel personally challenged by this statement.

First time replacement about two months ago -‘23 w/33k miles. Have only driven it a few weeks since new windshield installed and already have another crack.

Oof... only a few weeks on the new windshield is rough. Especially after making it 33k miles on the original.

Was the second crack another rock hit, or did it seem to come out of nowhere?

Four windshields in 12 years isn't too bad for Jeeps Sounds like you've got the chip repair routine down by now.

I'm not convinced that the resin kit actually helped. Though comparing the costs of the resin kit and the increased price of the Bronco windshield, I would use another resin kit just in case it helps.
