I'm looking for a gloss black Wildtrak grille to swap into my '26 Big Bend and after reading some positive comments on here and other places bought one from RPM Bronco.
The stuff showed up yesterday and upon inspection I thought the letters for the grille looked "odd" so I took them outside to compare to my stock grille. The comparison if you want to call it that was... interesting. pics below.
The letters are so bad in fact that I can't even use the matte black FMC covers I was planning to cover them up with as they aren't the same size, shape, font, etc.
RPM was very fast to reply to me but that is all I can say regarding their customer service.
I told the rep I would consider keeping the order if we could reach an agreement for them to reimburse me some unspecified portion of the purchase cost so I could source acceptable letters from somewhere else on my own but he was unwilling to do so.
The rep initially admitted the quality of the items were of poor quality, stated he wished to agree to an acceptable resolution and proceeded to give me three options:
1. Purchase a set of illuminated letters from RPM at full cost that he said were of better quality.
I don't want illuminated letters and have no desire to spend additional money with a vendor who I just received poor quality items from.
2. Figure it out on my own at my own cost and risk by attempting to remove the letters from my stock grille, despite purchasing a complete grille with letters.
I want to leave my stock grille in factory condition should I need it at a later date, so this option was a non-starter. Not to mention the obvious issue of RPM laying the burden of rectifying the situation entirely on myself despite them admitting the goods are of poor quality.
3. Return the order back to RPM via their shipping portal and paying them additional money for a return label and be refunded the purchase costs minus shipping costs despite the reason for the return being their poor quality items.
This was ultimately the option I chose. I will source an OEM grille from somewhere else and just eat the shipping costs. Live and learn, I suppose. It really is cheaper sometimes if you pay for it lol
The order is back in route to them at this time and I will update this thread later should any further shenanigans take place with RPM Bronco.
TL;DR: Bought a grille from RPM Bronco, the goods are of poor quality. RPM told me I could buy light up ones from them, figure it out on my own or send it back and pay shipping costs.
