Does this mean that purchasing a Bronco that requires this recall is impossible? There are a couple Bronco’s with great prices sitting on lots near me rn. After checking their VIN numbers they require this fix and I’m assuming Ford won’t allow these vehicles to be sold?

Yes. If the recall is open they can’t legally sell it.
That’s insanely annoying… My Bronco was (most likely) totaled and I was hoping to be able to find a leftover 25 for a good price. Not waiting until September though.

Yes. If the recall is open they can’t legally deliver it.

While technically there is a delivery hold and an associated penalty for delivering a vehicle to a buyer with an affected VIN where the recall hasn't been cleared, a dealer can easily remedy the recall for a purchased vehicle before delivery.

Ford has instructed them that customer vehicles take precedence over the dealer inventory. So the dealer shouldn't be clearing their lot inventory, but once a vehicle is purchased, then it is a customer's vehicle that is just on a delivery hold until the recall is complete. No reason that the recall can't be cleared while the customer is finishing up with the finance department. Maybe delivery might be delayed if the service department is dealing with a backlog.

I think he’s referring to 25 MY’s where a remedy isn’t available yet.

Not to be obtuse, but isn't the remedy the same no matter when the Bronco was built? I understand that Ford has only designated MY'26 Raptors as having a remedy so far. And all other MY Broncos still has a "remedy not available yet".

I just presumed the remedy available/not available status was more to stagger and prioritize the fix. Otherwise, there will be a half million Bronco owners calling the service departments at their respective dealer demanding to get the recall taken care of.

It’s certainly possible, but I’m not sure.

I’m going to guess something about the remedy is different simply because I don’t think they would specifically refrain from repairing all vehicles at the same time if they could do it.

There can’t be that many 26MY Braptors out there, so why wait until September to repair all the rest

Dealers should be used to that by now I would think

Yeah, after looking at the 'parts' required...all of that is available either already in stocks or can be purchased locally (even the convolute tubing is available all over).

So I've no idea why they would be waiting until September for the bulk of the customers to get this done....unless they want to write off the labor charges in the next quarter? That's been done before. Delaying 'warranty spend'.

I just bought a roll of the Coroplast tape from Amazon for $7 and I already have all of the convolute tubing in the required sizes. Just waiting for a couple of those Wire harness tie strap retainers (I ordered some of those from Amazon as well). So I won't be waiting till September to get mine done.
