I just bought I new 2025 that I am sure has been on the lot for while. Based on dealer prep, I am going to guess it was only was a few times and poorly at that. So now I need to figure out a plan to give it a good cleaning and good protection. Probably not going the protection wrap route but more of extreme detail with maybe ceramic or just synthetic wax protection.

I do have a conundrum though. The dealer was one of THOSE dealers that put on cheap vinyl pinstripes to EVERY vehicle on their lot so they could charge for it. I could take it or leave it if was done well but it wasn't. There is a small portion on gas door that is just starting to curl a bit on the end. My question is what's the best way to take it off? Will it leave stipes or discoloration? Also want to take off their logo they put on the back too. Once done just get a good detail to clean the contaminants off, polish, and protect.

Any and all work will be done by somebody else because I don't have the time or ability to do a good job. I have a billion wash/detail places near me from cheap to bougie. Not sure who would be the best to deal with the pinstripes. Any ideas? Also, what is the best way to clean protect the MIC hard top?

Thanks in advance! Apologies from a newb member/owner who is just digging into this site.

For the pinstripes, since they are vinyl (and sound cheap as they are pealing already), I am thinking you could just pull them off, no stripes , no paint pull.

maybe just try the gas cap first and see what happens?

Warranty get dealer to remove them. Otherwise heat gun or hair dryer makes it a breeze. Can wipe any residue after with what ever solvent have laying around incl nail polish remover.

Hair dryer is better than a heat gun unless the heat gun is adjustable. Many aren't. Goo Gone is good, also isopropyl alcohol. Nail polish remover has acetone in it, it can be pretty aggressive.

If they don't just pull off you can also try an eraser wheel in a drill. Work's like a charm.

eraser wheel.webp
That takes a VERY light touch and two hands on the drill. I'd go a step farther and use a cordless drill set at a slow speed.

Meh, I have used one a few times. Even the 1st time use was easy. Almost fool proof. YMMV.
