If Lincoln was to get into this market why would they use anything else but the T6 platform? The platform exists to be built on as needed. Then what vehicle will Lincoln use as the donor vehicle, the Explore or Expedition?

I'm all for Blue Cruise. Have it on my F150 and since I drive on the interstate a lot for work it makes driving much easier. In order for Ford to get me out of my 21 BL I would need seat cooling (must for SE US) and Blue Cruise. Probably won't happen with the Blue Cruise, but I am thinking about redoing the front seats to add cooling. Will see what the 27 model year offers.Any Lincoln variant will be based on the next gen Bronco. I’d be shocked if we see a tin top for the 6g. You’d also need the updated platform for stuff like Blue Cruise which Lincoln buyers would want.
I’m with you. I know as soon I buy a new MY Bronco that Blue Cruise will come out the following year. lol None of the changes since MY21 have been enough to make me say I gotta have a new one yet. Mostly because I really love my MY21.I'm all for Blue Cruise. Have it on my F150 and since I drive on the interstate a lot for work it makes driving much easier. All I'm getting at (in a round about way) is Lincoln, could just as well be a trim, because my understanding is they simple take a ford and make minor tweaks (like a new grille, and leather seats), similar to Lexus and Acura. So I'd bet against a solid roof "Lincoln Bronco", especially after the F150 Lincoln debacle. If Lincoln was to get into this market why would they use anything else but the T6 platform? That's exactly what I tell wife about my quirks and rough edges. Its rough edges and quirks (as much as people complain about them) are what gives it its character.
Lincoln is dead enough. They still sell units, but the average customer is probably +75. That’s poison to the Bronco brand personality and a smart exec (if they exist at Ford) knows that. Someone Jay Leno’s age might be the target market for the Filson, but you sell to that guy by making him think he’s still in his 50s, not by reminding him he’s almost 80, by badging it Lincoln.I feel like Lincoln as a brand is mostly dead. Generally speaking, I forget it even exists, and I rarely see Lincolns on the road. If I were shopping for a luxury vehicle, it wouldn't even occur to me to shop for a Lincoln because I tend to forget they exist. Spending 130k on a brand that I forget exists? I just don't see how. My first thought for a capable Luxury SUV is the Land Rover. Second is Lexus. Ford needs to do a lot more than just create a luxury Bronco to get people talking about Lincolns again. And if people aren't talking about Lincolns, they're not shopping for Lincolns.
Poison to Ford in general I think. I don't know why Ford is so reluctant to let it go. It should have died when Ford stopped making cars other than the Mustang.Lincoln is dead enough. 70-something dudes still seem to like Lincoln? And old guys buy expensive cars? Hard to say. I think there’s a demo out there, who can afford luxury, but are from the era where buying Japanese or Euro is inconceivable. Not a big market segment however.Poison to Ford in general I think. I dunno about that. The idea of there being an era of buying Japanese or Euro is to me inconceivable. My grandfather spend the last year of WW2 looking over the barrel of a 20mm Oerlikon shooting at kamikazes. His ship towed a burning carrier (the Franklin) out of the combat zone, and ended up retiring from a naval shipyard as a machinist. He had as good of reasons for anyone to "hate Japanese stuff", but the last two vehicles he owned were both Subarus.70-something dudes still seem to like Lincoln? And old guys buy expensive cars? PS: Cadillac, which has actually had a lot of brand effort put into it in the last few years, is only 5% of GM sales. Hard to imagine Lincoln is doing any better than that for Ford.
My Nam-era older brother would have never bought a Japanese car, and I’m sure he thought Euro cars too prissy and yuppie. He was a ‘buy American’ guy, just like a lot of guys his age on here. His last car was a 5.0 Mustang. Lincoln probably still exists because of dudes like him.I dunno about that. The idea of there being an era of buying Japanese or Euro is to me inconceivable. I figure if it was good enough for him, who am I to say I am too good to drive Japanese? Then again, I hate Subarus and won't own one so maybe my perception is just warped. I'd totally drive a Toyota though lol
My grandfather was a navigator on a B-something or other bomber in the Pacific, fought the Japanese. His last two trucks were those little Toyota pickups? Ones that usually just say "Toy" on the back? He loved those things, when he went in the nursing home, there was just about a fistfight over who got that little red truck. I'm sure he was buy American, but he really loved those trucks. Grandma had a four door Oldsmobile wanna be Caddy. Tissue boxes everywhere. Not too many of those kinda folks around anymore. My Nam-era older brother would have never bought a Japanese car, and I’m sure he thought Euro cars too prissy and yuppie.
