First post, first question (been following in the background for a couple years). My new rack will be at my house tomorrow, I have the Pro-Cal. When I got the tuning from the Ford site, I don’t remember seeing a calibration for the new steering. Do I need to look again?

There should be a redemption card that comes with the rack that will let you down load the rack calibration off the Ford Performance website and on to the Procal. I have yet to try installing my calibration. Some have had issues just getting the calibration down loaded, but I don't think I had an issue with that. Many have had issues getting the calibration installed in the rack. Do you have the performance tune installed?

Note that the hardware and FP stickers and stuff are in the large block of Styrofoam that is glued to the top of the card board box. That threw me for a loop.

4 wheel still out and Bronco is at the fourth Dealer in San Diego. They're all thinking it has something to do with the steering rack or steering rack install. Yes, should be easy fix. Ford Performance says we should swap out the steering rack, but the phone goes dead when the issue of who's gonna pay for it comes up.

I had the understanding that I needed to download the tune before I installed the rack. The ProCal would stop at blk 6, I couldn’t get ford on the phone so I googled it. Google told me I had install the rack then download the tune. I installed the new rack, tried to download the tune. The tune stopped at “tuning rack”, I called ford (Tom), he had me start all over (even with the tuner saying it was still tuning). I did this 3 more times (the Bronco would time out after :30 minutes). Finally I just took the tuner off, started the Bronco, and the steering worked. I called Tom back and he couldn’t explain it, but said if it worked, run it.

Haven't pulled the trigger on the upgraded steering rack because I can't find anyone local who can do the work. Closest location to San Diego that seems capable is Galpin north of LA.

If you happen onto a dealer in San Diego or the associated areas that is competent please let me know.

I've been to four so far and can't recommend one for anything outside of the box. The Steering rack install is easy. Getting it to talk to the car is the tricky part. Ford Performance has some capable engineers, but not enough to support the Dealer techs that need them to finish the install. Your truck will sit in the corner of their lot for weeks, maybe months. If you have someone you know can do it right and they are north of L.A. I would go that route in a heart beat after what I have been through.

Late 2022
Late meaning second half of '22? It wasn't built with the HOSS 3.0 suspension and the severe duty rack? I thought they switched over all production mid-'22 to HOSS 3.0, but maybe they just made it an option on special order vehicles. Mine is early '22 (12/21 build according to the door lable) and was definitely HOSS 2.0.

I don't think all production was until 2023, Last half of 22 it was an option you could get...
