So why haven't I heard about this already. Anyone have insights on what this might mean?

Yeah...wondering if it's going to get expanded in the future to include all of them? Though so far (knock on wood) our '24 seems to be fine.

I just rechecked my top and, for the first time, found 2 spots with some cracking on the top of the rear cap. My Bronco was built on 8/13/2021 and then spent 3 months on Dirt Mountain getting the MIC2.0 put on before delivery (resulting in slightly mismatched colors on the panels).

Finding cracks is potentially relieving IF that means I would be getting something replaced.

My fear, as experienced with most Ford recalls so far is that Ford would determine "your roof is okay now so we're not going to do anything for you."

At least, now I have something to point out and complain about.

There's limited information on this recall so far, but I would assume the small hairline cracks that most people see, wont be apart of this.
I think this is going after much larger cracks which cause delamination to the point where chunks may start flying off.
But we will see.

NO $hit Ford.
After receiving my 4th top a couple weeks ago for my '23 model, this is obvious.

"Remedy is not yet available"

Ya no kidding. We're into 2026 and the same problems persist.

The remedy is replacing the MIC tops with one of the two variants of the painted hardtops; either colour matched or gloss black.

It's not rocket science Ford.

I would be happy to hear a program where we could upgrade to the painted top for a "reasonable" price, but that would cause a massive amount of complaints from MIC owners who didn't "quite" qualify for the recall. The only way I could see this happening is if Ford stopped production on MIC tops altogether.

Oh for sure I would pay a portion of the cost to swap to the colour matched painted top.

That is for certain.

I can't believe Ford continues to use Webasto for the MIC tops because the issues are still present and I don't know if it is a design flaw or just crappy quality control on Webasto's part but enough is enough.

Had my time as well. 5 to be exact. Go to Ford dealer lots and look at new ones. You can see what you are buying. New ones cracked before buying. Also look how the replacements are shipped, open crates and most of the time are just as bad. makes no sense at all...

Webasto has made ALL the Jeep tops and there's no problems there. It's Ford's design/engineering.
Webasto doesn’t make the Jeep tops either. The issue isn’t material design/engineering on Ford, that’s handled by Webasto and their poor quality control with the paper core design. All Ford designed/engineered was the shape and appearance for the overall product which is why it’s the same for both versions offered.

I would check your facts. My buddy’s 2014 Rubicon had a Webasto made top. Ford most definitely engineered and speced these tops. If it was a manufacturing defect, Ford would be suing the crap out of Webasto.

Okay I’ll clarify, currently Webasto does not make the tops for current Jeep models. And that’s not how supplier contracts work
