Can you polish the painted MOD top

Hey guys,

Is the painted mod top paint + clear coat or some sort of single stage shiny plastic? Got some scratches that I wanted to buff out and took a microfiber towel and meguairs polish to but it didn't do anything to the scratch but made more swirl marks. Wanted to make sure it's clear coat before I take a proper DA to it to polish properly. Thx

I’m pretty sure the color matching tops are base/clear. Think they are painted at manufacturer and not at Ford. Not positive on this though.

Correct on the application. But Ford paints their tops. They come with a base primer from the supplier.

Grinder is better haha....seriously it's a good time to learn rotary and wool pad with finesse other wise DA will take for ever ...3$M onestep polish is great not cheap but don't need much and can do your, and all your friends cars. Just don't burn through a corner best to mask them off

I've got a rotary with 6 inch pad that I used to work on my older cars. Funny thing is I never burned through paint with it but I did with my drill and pad haha. The rear section is so narrow I just don't want to deal with it and burn the edge like you said haha.
