So for RTT owners. How does the set up impact ride quality?
top heavy feel when off roading?
Did you upgrade your suspension for the RTT?
Anybody running stock bronco set up with RTT?
I have a tear drop that I tow. Off road type. The 200 hitch weight drops the back end an inch when Bronco and teardrop are loaded.
How much squat does your roof top set up have?
lots of questions

here’s my teardrop ModBug 12lrk. 1500 dry Under 200 loaded.

 Are youa Sons of Smokey member? I recently learned about the movement/app and absolutely love the concept. How has everything holding up bolted up on the outside with the capabilities/speed the Braptor is capable of? Of course I assume you aren't hucking it but still driving spiritedly?

I am a SoS volunteer. Lots you can do at any level of involvement.

i bought a Gobi rack so I would feel comfortable about the weight. I am very close to GVWR with the tent, the kitchen, rotopacks, 39” tires, power tank, etc. so I don’t go excessively fast, i definitely watch my cornering speed and no jumps. I’m tipping the scales at 6900lbs with passengers and gear onboard so we take it easy. The Baja version was just as heavy, and I didn’t have a tent.

I run stock Black Diamond 2dr manual, OEM roof rack. Aspen Lite RTT about 110lbs, CVT 270 awning about 40lbs. I run this setup in the summer months. I may lose about 1mpg. Squat is not noticeable, even with about 150lbs camping gear in the rear.

Attach my DIY trailer with RTT and camping gear, about 1100lbs, then I get a couple inches of squat.

I do want to upgrade my suspension to get it back to level with the trailer attached.

Little to old and fat for a RTT but do have an Ironman awning room i haven't tried out yet. Thanks to @X-Rack I was able to mount my awning on my soft top.

Thank you. It's a Carry-On sold by Lowe's, 4'x5', 12" wheels/tires, $800. I removed the fenders and wheels, replaced with new fenders and 15' wheels/tires. Plywood box, mounted cargo rack, top flips up from the side. I eventually moved the spare to the rear. Used strut-channel to build the frame for the CVT RTT ($1,000). Loaded up with camping gear weighs about 1,100 lbs. That was my goal weight to minimize tongue weight. With about 300 lbs (including RTT and awning) camping gear in my Bronco, I get a couple inches of squat. Total invested into the trailer is about $3,000. Tows great, cross country a couple years ago.

FSR Aspen Lite on the Bronco was about $2,500. CVT 270 Awning was about $400 I think.

Anyone with a Trailrax rack experience whistling with their tent?

Just got my Topoak Stellar on today and immediately was met with high pitched whistling even as slow as 25 mph.

I've always run my rack fairing as low as I can but figured I needed to go high to eliminate the wind tunnel effect.

The first thing I tried of course was that but it wasn't enough. Then I moved the tent up and closer to the fairing and then added a trim seal I had lying around to almost fully eliminate it.

Finally the real test was just taping the gap shut to confirm if I fix the gap I fix the whistle.

So going to order some rubber trim seal thats thicker/has a bulb on it to seal as good as the tape did.

But what other things have people encountered and resolved it with? I can't be the only one.
