Still waiting on the resistors, asked for an update today and got this response
I spoked with the R&D team and they indicated it could be a couple of weeks before we receive the final revision of the resistors (20ohm).

I appreciate your patience, but we feel confident the new spec will permanently resolve the issue, even in cold weather.
Seems like they are making efforts to address the issue permanently (crossing fingers)

Great news.

Do you notice that your brake lights don’t work until the warm up/hyper flash stops?

I didn’t realize the non-existent brake lights was a symptom. I didn’t have that issue with the Oracles (that I was aware of anyhow). Just the hyper flash once the resistor failed. It’s weird these Morimoto ones just need a warmup before they’re fine. Usually takes 10-15 seconds.

I guess I should write them sooner rather than later.

thought you were referring to the turn signal, my fault, yes it's mostly the turn sign but occasionally the brake light also didn't work but only in the driver side

got the new resistors today, they came unbranded, but looks the same. Just finished up putting them on (takes me about 20 minutes to replace the lights now-a-days), Initial test was working just fine, going to leave the bronco outside for a bit since its around 20 degrees here, and will update if its confirmed to finally fixed the issue.

Right on. I’m in the process of sending videos for warranty. The biggest pain in the ass is that I have the Turn HD tailgate. Makes removing the passenger side pretty difficult.

So yea, the new resistors do not fix the issue, while initially they worked, after driving around for about an hour, they hyper-flashed from time to time. Perhaps some progress was made as before the turn-signal would always hyper-flash, now its less frequent therefore hard to pinpoint what causes it. Coasting in gear, turn-signal on, come to a stop caused it a least 2 times in the hour I drove it. 15v to 13v battery jump? I dunno.

Still unacceptable imo and have already sent them another email.

Ill be leaving them on for the time being to try and get a proper video of the issue.

How many times have these failed and needed to be repaired/replaced? Serious question (not hating, just trying to understand): Are they that "cool" that dealing with so much downtime is worth it?

Oh jeez. I’m staying tuned. I would be pissed if I did all that work for nothing.

I have yet to run a real test - but, I think my brake lights act weird (intermittent) when it’s flashing. But, once warmed up they act as they should?

Im on my third set of tail lights and have tried 3 sets of resistors.

Ironically, today (for about 30 minute drive to kids school) and at 10 degrees the turn-signal worked fine, voltage was stable at around 14.4 the whole time. It seems to happen when voltage goes from high to low 13 - 15 ish

Edit: Yes these lights, imo, are the best looking tail lights for the bronco (again my opinion)

Edit: and for me, I have no choice but to deal with this, as they won't refund me because I bought it from a reseller and the reseller won't honor the return (its been too long)

so the good news is that they are keeping an open dialogue with me and have been helpful dealing with this, the bad news is that it's believed that new resistors might not fix the issue entirely, I got this message from them
Voltage regulators in the alternator shouldn't really allow the voltages to get much higher than 14.4 volts. This is the voltage that all of our products are designed to be their maximum, so with them getting higher than that, this could ultimately be part of the problem.
and then the potentially really bad news
If this 15volt issue persists, it's possible that the taillights may not be capable of working correctly without a complete redesign, but I'll let the R&D and engineering team make that kind of call.
I'll keep y'all posted ofc

@jsoa - did they send you new complete assemblies or just resistors? They’re claiming the replacement set they are sending me is a new build and should alleviate the issue moving forward.

I'm on my 3rd set of complete assemblies and 3rd set of resistors, none of which solves the problem. I was also told that a "new" assembly would fix the issue at one point. I'd be weary of the set you are getting will fix the issue as last I was told they needed to redesign the entire thing (about 2 weeks ago). I would ofc welcome a genuine fix. please keep us updated.

Bummer. I don’t think I’m going to move forward with their offer just yet then. I don’t feel like going through the trouble of changing the assemblies if it’s not a long term solution. Mainly because I have the Turn HD tire carrier and it makes it difficult to access the passenger light.
