Yes it’s formatted properly, and I used one that was 2gb and one that was 8gb.
Another dumb question but after inserting the usb drive is it supposed to just update automatically? I also tried going into the device system information menu and it has a “hold OK to update system” but even then I get an error “the system file do not match the hardware of the instrument”. Yes that’s not a typo that’s the exact quote…lol
@RustysBronco can you shed any light on the situation, as I haven't personally had to do this just yet.

I would asssume you turn the Bronco on, let the cluster come up, then plug the USB drive in, and the update flashes automatically. Again, I hope Rusty can give us what he does exactly so that you can get yours updated.

One more video. Hoping @carobotor can work through all the current issues with this cluster, cuz these graphics are giving the Raptor's cluster a run for the money.
Thanks for continuing to follow thru with this and updating us

One thing to try with the unit mismatch - if you switch your truck to metric, will the new cluster still have the same error - will it now report out to imperial? If so maybe that is a simple fix for the vendor.

Agreed the cluster graphics look great, and in my opinion would make the swap worthwhile......if it works

I will reach out to the carobotor team via socials, hoping some messages will help egg them on to get this resolved as the product looks great, however forum members don't wanna buy till its a properly working product

Should be fat32, nothing else on the drive, copy it to the root and don't unzip the one file. It'll start with a countdown once you plug it in. I don't know if 2/4 door or auto/MT update files are different, but double check that.

Above and beyond that - try a different drive. If that still fails - check your USB is plugged in the back of the cluster.

If that still fails, throw it away.

Hmm... That could be it, the USB plug. I had a shop swap it out I didn't do it myself. Sounds like that's a separate plug that they might not have done? Can that be checked without taking the dash apart? That's the part I don't trust myself doing.

Thanks for the help too!

What are you plugging into now? The USB charging port in the center console?

The USB port in the cubby under the climate controls. Is that not right?
I am pretty sure there is a USB cable that the cluster comes with and you run it somewhere you can get to it to do updates. The one in the little cubby is not the one.

Might reach out to the company that installed it to see if they ran the USB cable somewhere that is accessible.

I put my USB port behind the knee panel when installing. Pull that down & see if they zip tied it there.

Another update came in this morning, who has installed and testing to see if any of the lingering issues are somewhat resolved? Looking forward to feedback on today's update.

Update from me: Carobotor released an update. Added some new features including syncing goat modes with themes, adding additional themes including an ECO & Sport mode. There's now a way to track 0-60 and 0-100 times, but it doesn't work (counts down but doesn't record). The dash also crashes now when you feed it too many commands (turn GOAT mode too many times or telling it to navigate to different screens too quickly). The media is still in chinese, the BLIS and cross-traffic functions still turn off at random. And I haven't even gotten as far as to check for existing/new DTC's yet.

Anyhow, we've had a lot of back and forth via private DM with CaRobotor over on IG. Several on this thread are a party to the conversation. Essentially in that thread, just today, CaRobotor announced a stop sale until they can fix it. NHTSB complaint related? 👀

Anyhow, they're also going on their 4th two-week vacation in the last 3 months, so we expect more radio silence on the problem.

Maybe they'll get this right for 2026? To be continued.....

At this point I consider it payment for doing all their beta testing for them & catching blatantly obvious issues with their product.
