2026 2 Door 2.7 not available?

A 2-door Raptor done right would sell……….big time! There is a market for 2 door Broncos. A niche. Happy with mine and it’s going no where.

All raptors to date have been or are 4 doors. Whether F150, Ranger or Bronco. Its part of their DNA I suppose.

I love my 2-dr 2.7 "Wildlands" and am very happy with overall 17.2 mpg, the performance especially in Sport mode. Though offroad in the mountains, I am sure the 2.3 would work acceptable with Sasquatch gearing.
Ford may be following Jeep with limited 2 dr Rubicon offerings, but come on...
Really like the performance of the wife's 3.0 Lincoln and dream of a junkyard retrofit for the Bronco.
There's no replacement for displacement.

All the 2.7 2dr fanboys here didn't realize 2.7 2dr bronco sits at lots average over 90 days before it's sold... Considered the slowest selling model vs 2.3 2dr.

I’m willing to bet there is no concrete proof or publicly available data to back this claim up.

Probably this boils down to money, but how does offering no 2-door V6 earn Ford more money? Typically auto makers are always making upgrades available to get people to pay more, but not in this case with no engine upgrade offering.

Does the V6 cost so much more to manufacture, install and warranty in a 2-door Bronco, that Ford loses money even when up-charging? Or is it another option ploy to make V6 buyers buy a more expensive 4-door? Or is Ford short on V6 availability, and wanting the V6 for other vehicles? Inquiring minds want know.

My guess is that by removing one of the engine/body combinations, you reduce one of the suspension development requirements and an entire lane of testing, thereby reducing the overall Bronco program costs. Each engine/body/transmission combination has to be tested thoroughly and has unique suspension needs (due to weight and wheelbase). Also, the new 2.3 now has direct and port injection and it's got a lot of power and torque. With the lower weight of the two door, you should be well-served by the 2.3.

Many do sit. Is it because their 2-door 2.7 builds? I don’t think so.

None of my 2.3L are slugs.

It's a real shame that the 2.7L is only available in the F-150 XL, XLT and STX. It's no longer available in the Lariat, nor any other trim. The 3.5L in the F-150 Tremor is overpowered unless you're towing........the 2.7L would be perfect but it's not offered. I also feel the 2.7L would be a great base engine in the Expedition. Fantastic engine overall, but I am still glad my Broncos have the 2.3L........300 horsepower is abundant power.

Owning an Expedition, and having had a couple 2.7's now (one in an F150 XLT Sport, one in our Bronco), I'm glad it's NOT an option for the Expedition. Despite the weight reduction, that thing is still a heavy tank and gets good use from the (albeit de-tuned) 3.5 available in the lower trims. If it were a 2.7, once you've got 7-8 people and their gear in it (teens and full-size adults), it starts to actually get into the boost quite a bit taking off, passing, and climbing hills.

One could argue that the 2.7 MIGHT be a good base engine for the F150 Tremor...but as one who offroads from time to time, more power is not really a bad thing, so I can see why Ford dropped the 3.5 into it instead. One must remember that the F150 weighs considerably more than even a 4-door Bronco, and benefits from that extra power in everything it does.

Even if there was, without knowing how they were optioned, the data is meaningless. A crappy dealer optioned vehicle isn't going to fly off the lot...and not being able to get a manual ALSO hurts.

All too often, the 2dr Broncos I saw were base with next to no options. Oh, and slushbox.

I am curious if they are trying to kill off the 2dr.
I had the 2.7L in my 2023 2dr Bronco .
Would not have even considered a 2.3.

It was not exactly overpowered with the 2.7L not bad but nothing crazy when optioned with the SAS pkg.

When I went to look for mine in 2024, the dealer had 2 2dr manuals listed on their website. The first weekend I went in to test drive them, neither of them were actually THERE yet, they were listed, though really they were in transit. The one I test drove was a shadow black BB without the mid package. Zero options. There was no base in 24, so it was as low as you could get. I liked it, and said I really liked the color of the other one on the website. He checked, and it was in, so I started the paperwork on it. Big Bend with the mid package, but pretty much nothing else. To be fair, I was looking for as cheap as I could get my payment so it worked out for me (paid more for my paint and mid package lol) but as you said, the pickins were slim.

There was literally so little to choose from, I had to go BACK to get a test drive because they had nothing available the first time I went.

It makes you wonder how many people might have done to the stealership looking for a 2 door and walking away with a 4 door because they were not as married to 2 doors as I am.

But those who want a manual also have other things they desire. The reality is that, at least in the past 30 years, dealers usually only stocked the most basic of vehicles equipped with a stick, if they even ordered a manual for dealer stock.

The dealers created a self-fulfilling prophecy through their poor ordering tendencies.
