Would you ever do cradles so you don't lose droop? That is the plan for me since that's what I have on my Tacoma but it seems the bolt in solution makes it hard to adjust the cradle in the right spot. But I have no problem fabricating a different mount to get it exactly where it needs to be.
Yes I am planning on cradles before my next big offroad adventure. I may have to fab something up as well.

What made you choose the Maximus mount?
I didn’t want to permanently carry the winch for a variety of reasons (weight, suspension sag, aesthetics), but wanted something that was fairly stout. I think the Maximus mount checks both boxes, but haven’t really tested it yet.

I would note that the Maximus mount, at least on my truck, has very tight tolerances. Getting the safety pins fully engaged required a rubber mallet on one side. That’s probably a good thing for stability, but I am worried now whether I’ll be able to remove the mount without some serious effort. Time will tell.

Yes, I think you're right about tight tolerances being important so it doesn't rattle around. I've not needed it for a rescue (yet) but I have smashed it a bit on a steep incline. It's tough.

Regarding the pin tightness, I spray the pins with WD40 before inserting them. Makes installation and removal much easier.

out of curiosity, how are you routing power? I settled on keeping some paracord tied between the hood pedistal on top and frame on the bottom to pull up between uses.

Assembled the EZ 4X4 Top Lift this morning. EZ to assemble. Other than needing to adjust the angle it works as advertised.

Installed ditch lights today

Hella Black Magic 6.2” floods
Hella Black Magic 3” Spot cubes
On DV8 low mounts.

easy install today. Will wire them to the Upfitter switches tomorrow.
Share your thoughts once you power them up & try them at night. That's a similar low-mount like the BluMak's, do they have vertical adjustment?

I’m using quick connect cables that I will leave disconnected until the winch is needed. The longer end I’ve left coiled up under the hood as there was plenty of space. Hopefully they hold up to the extreme heat environment. The shorter end I have to figure out a way to fix to the winch or the bumper so it’s not flopping around while driving.

When I connect, I’ll follow the approach Maximus used in their video: open hood, connect, gently close hood to the first latch. There’s probably a way to route the longer end through the engine bay and under the bumper or out the wheel well, but I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble (yet).

More pics on my build thread if interested.

Bought a bunch of things, but installed my fire extinguisher... backwards for now. I want to make sure it does not come loose in any way from road vibration before I turn it around for easy access. I made the rock light harness as well. The rock light install and tow hooks may have to wait till the weather breaks, as I don’t have a heated garage…

Paper maps from 2004?
Maybe, … no pretty sure most of them are older then that… I have and can still read and use topographical maps and a magnetic compass. Man I am as old as dirt…
