I did the same. I disconnected the clamps and connected the wires directly to the terminals. No need for cutting the wires, just tie and tuck the excess somewhere. My battery has maintained the charge after 3 years.
Where did you route the power plug?

I bolted the Genius 5 to the air filter box. The power cord runs out to the garage outlet on that side (passenger side). I have to open the hood to connect it to the outlet. I guess that you can run it down to the fender and thru the firewall as the cable is long enough, but I did not want to cut anything. When not connected I just tuck and wrap the wire inside the engine bay. Hope this helps.

Finally got it back from the dealer after having some warranty work done. Glad to have it back, but pissed I missed our first big snow of the year!

Added an IAG mini bull bar (thanks scratch and dent clearance) and some diode dynamics lights I bought last year black Friday. Hooked up via the factory fog wiring and added the factory fog headlight switch with forscan updates to enable.

Want to do this too.
How did you wire the power plug?
I've just been popping the hood and plugging it in directly. I did buy a 2' extension cord so that I could connect it without having to open the hood, but I haven't figured out the best place for it to exit yet.

Did you get the NOCO extension one or something else?

The NOCO Genius 2D just has a standard 2 prong electrical outlet connection. I just got a 2' - 2 wire standard extension cord to route down to the bumper and exit there somewhere.
