My first car, a 1978 Mustang II, would be considered a pretty RARE car today. You rarely see them at car shows, and never see them on the road. Probably worth some bank today 😜
My dad had one of those for awhile in the early 90's. I hear most of them were set on fire and pushed off a cliff somewhere out west. Oh, whoops, did I say that out loud?? 🤫

The thing is, it's classic correlation without causation. If there weren't a few (probably completist) collectors out there paying these top dollar amounts, they might be worthless.
Unfortunately, that is how value is assigned. My house is worth what someone might pay for it, and it might be more or less from one day to the next as the market changes. At the of the day, a diamond is just a pretty rock and gold is a metal.

Then you agree, their value has no correlation to inflation.

What the dealer said was it was a special order only for pretty much every dealer in 2022.
Basically ALL Broncos were special order for the first 2 years. Ford policy is to put customer orders in front of dealership orders. Then when Ford allowed dealers to order for the lot, they were limited to 4 door soft tops due to parts shortages.

Customer orders (as you would expect) leaned much heavier on 2 door and manual transmissions than dealer lot orders.

Cyber Orange was not allowed on the base in 21, and I think it went away in 24. But it was a popular color. So, uncommon, but certainly not rare.

CO ended in 22 because I had to change for my order in 23.

I think this veered a bit from my initial curiosity.:)

I bought this Bronco to work as a daily, an off roader and a storm chaser vehicle. Its going to get few miles so its destined to be low miles when its older. I really cant drive it much because of work.

Before it gets beat to death by a hail storm I was just curious if its a better plan to keep it in the garage and preserve it and get one thats more common to thrash.

Got the answer. Its "Enjoy it theres plenty more where that came from"

Appreciated ^^

Weren't there something like 5000 different model combinations based on the options provided early on and the ability to mix and match? So a lot of folk that ordered especially have something that's "rare". Rare is not the same as valuable, though. There's not a lot of Yugos (the Eastern European car) left, but you might be hard pressed to find someone that would pay a lot for it.
Ive seen people fight to pay 3k for a yugo. Im certain they had to reconsider thier life after they did but none the less. A buddy picked a rust free Yugo up for 100$ 20 or so years ago. Theres nothing about it that convinced me anyone could go for a test drive and say "yes this is going to be a great car for me" in the US market. o_O

I have a two vehicles, a garaged 6g Bronco and a 2010 Chevy pickup. I'm hoping I'm not driving my Bronco in hail. So yeah, you can do both and maybe just maybe keep it going for a long time looking nice. I also still offroad mine etc. So, y'know.

Had a coach in middle school who got divorced and was broke so he bought one. Somebody asked him about it so we went out to look at it. Kid you not, he got in and tried to roll the window down and the plexiglass window fell and he couldn't get it back up. He was like, nobody's gonna steal it. He'd had it a few days, new.
