My Bronco prefers to be called "big boned", not "heavy".

I usually drive up to Anna. There's some CAT scales at a place right off of 75 - east side of the road.Does that mean you've added ~1250lbs? That seems somewhat reasonable, given that you've added a lot of steel and rubber.
I'd like to get mine weighed before I start putting a bunch of plating and big tires on. Anyone know somewhere in DFW area or in general I could do that?
Just wondering, do you know if they charge anything?I usually drive up to Anna. There's some CAT scales at a place right off of 75 - east side of the road.
Last time I had the RV measured I thought is was around $16. Bet you can find a number to call if you google" CAT scales Anna TX"Just wondering, do you know if they charge anything?
That was a good guess.I'd also like to stay below 5k to flat tow, but I'm afraid I'm around 5100. I need to get weighed. I have no excuses, there's a truck scale 50ft outside my office.
I would say soThat was a good guess.

So agree with this. I remember reading in detail about the Broncos configurations and weights when I reserved mine. I also like smaller and lighter weight vehicles. I had 4 TJ's and a CJ - loved all of them. 4 wheeled, towed boats, landscape trailers, never an issue, despite being smaller and lighter. So I opted for my 2 door Basesquatch with 2.7. Light build and I'm keeping it that way. Light weight equal performance and gas mileage. (Well as best as can be considering......but I get near 23 MPG average). Heck my daily driver is the ultimate lightweight- a Mazda Miata track car. Same basic principle- power to weight. There are some weight discrepancies listed out there, but by one account the lowest weight Bronco 2-door is 4300lbs, while the most bloated 4-door is 5300lbs.
Keeping in mind those of us who off-road can have a need for heaver skid plates etc, I'm a big fan of keeping a vehicle light as possible. Dang my CJ-5 was only 2500lbs and got me all over Colorado off-roading, camping including with passengers (creative packing for the latter).
Newer vehicles seem on an obesity trend like the USA population, lol.
Nice build! How are you liking the Ultimate Dana 60? My one reservation with that outside of cost is weight. Also did you go 5.38 to roll 40s I assume? I have 37s so thinking 4.88 would suffice if I went this direction. And also what locker did you go with? Appreciate the info. Thanks!I weighed my Bronco the other night and it surprised me how heavy it has become. Have some heavy parts on mine but a decked out overland rig has got to be pretty high also.

The way mine rolls it’s faster than stock numbers but mpg lower by another 15% or so.Of course there are other variables, but Chat GPT estimates the general mpg and acceleration between Broncos having a 2000 lbs weight difference.
