On this special day, as we honor the contributions and sacrifices of our veterans, let’s take a moment to dive into a fun yet meaningful discussion: If you could choose a different vehicle besides the one you currently own, which one would it be?

Whether it's for its rugged durability, off-road capability, or simply its iconic style, trucks have always been a symbol of strength and resilience—values deeply tied to the spirit of our veterans. So, let’s hear it: Which vehicle would you pick and why?

And for those who aren’t veterans, we’d still love to hear your opinions—every perspective is welcome!

So I do like my Bronco, not looking to get rid of it, but yeah, sometimes you just need a truck bed.

I like the concept of the Scout a lot, with the range extender - makes it kinda like a hybrid. And they are promising to bring back real buttons! But it's not out yet... and I'm not pre-ordering a truck. I don't want to beta test.

I have an F150, but the last few generations are just too big. I haven't driven a current generation Ranger yet, but I've owned some '90's vintage ones and they were a bit small back then - I imagine they have grown up just like the F150 has.

Rivian is kinda growing on me. I don't think I want strictly EV, every now and again I do need to make long trips with the truck... but I acknowledge most of it is just running down to pick up lumber or something at the hardware store. I still can't quite get over the headlights, but I don't throw up a little bit in my mouth whenever I see them on the road anymore.

I like a nice vehicle, but for a vehicle that's main purpose is to throw crap in the bed and haul it - I just can't see springing for Platinum King Ranch Super Duper trim for super duper price. Around here, seems two types of people do that - the people who can depreciate the cost of the truck, so that takes the sting out of it... or the people who are perpetually living in a 4-digit monthly car payment and probably traded in something that they still had debt on ... I don't understand how they can live like that.

When the Slate was first announced I was like - yeah, a no frills truck! Then the more I read about it, the more I realized... yeah, the Maverick is like essentially the same thing, for about the same price.

I'm not super loyal to Ford, but every car I have bought has been a Ford. I just don't see a compelling reason to go to another company for a truck though. They all have their quirks, at least with Ford I kinda know what I'm going to bitch about before I get into it.

I have guys at work that are all into the Raptor/TRX thing. They are great if you just want to go fast in the desert. They spend more time in the shop fixing stuff, most of it is semi-self induced and most of it breaks when they were dropping the kids off at daycare, not out doing cool stuff... But it's their thing, so to each their own.

I think the only things that would sway me would be more expensive and have similar capability. (Ranger Raptor, Land Cruiser, GX550…) I love the Bronco but sometimes I’d like a little extra luxury and road trip ability.

Prior to purchasing my Bronco, the 2 ideas I was bouncing back and forth on were:

1-TRX

2-Nissan Titan project build. Built motor. Harrop Supercharger. Tune. Lift. 37s. Etc. Looking to get into the 550-600hp range with it.

I was 50-50 split on those ideas

Either F-150 OR Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. Was heavily considering the Colorado when I bought my Bronco but ultimately couldn’t resist the deal I got for my Bronco!

Not much choice is there with 80% of auto producers blocked from seeling to us either by tariffs or regulatory protectionist measures. I'll take by Bronco rattling turbos and arrogant dealers and all haha and my BYD Shark in MX.

The Bronco is a toy and completely unnecessary. I got it to be a small, fun 'runabout' vehicle and to help keep the miles off the expensive to operate F550 and F350.

I like my Bronco, but I wouldn't replace it with another if it had to go away for whatever reason. A compact pickup would probably suit me better, but I can't say I really like any of the ones on the market.

Retired Army - 26 years. From among the current vehicles available to the U.S. market? I would choose an INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster. But if I could import a vehicle, I would choose a 2025 Toyota GDJ79 with the 2.8 auto turbo diesel in the double cab / alublack tray configuration.

^ Ditto on the Grenadier, tho I might go more for a Troopy or a middle-east spec 300 series.

The Bronco is a flat-towable compromise tbh.

Hmm....I would stay in the Ford family, would probably go back to a truck, F150 Raptor, or perhaps the Shelby Baja Raptor. I could also run a Ranger Raptor, or lastly, a Ford Explorer ST.

Give the Gladiator a turbo charged V6, then a level lift and 37’s - I’m sold! I love the Gladiator and a truck bed would be handy, until that engine upgrade though… Now, my 2.7 keeps me grinning!

Well, I’d like to have my old F/A-18C, with the same group of outstanding maintainers we had… with some benefactor footing the bills. But, that’s not gonna happen. So, I’ll go with a 1958 Pontoon Fender Ferrari 250 Testarossa. (Also not gonna happen)

I'd pick an Ineos Grenadier. The things that put me off it before were cost, parts availability, and no stick shift, but otherwise it's a great vehicle for going out into the boonies. It's also roomier inside than the Bronco, though less capable off-road.

Before I bought my Bronco, my other candidate for my next 4x4 was some sort of crew-cab compact pickup. I was tired of clambering in and out of a camper shell for sleeping which I'd been doing since I was young. The short bed would have a Diamondback bed cover and would store the spare tire, recovery gear, extra water, and tools. I'd have to rig up some way to sleep in the cab above my camping gear.

In the end the only candidate was the new Tacoma, thanks to the stick, but that one just seemed meh. Glad I went with the Bronco which I love.

For a little more money....

Lexus GX550
Toyota 4Runner (begrudgingly since I didn't want a hybrid and chose the Bronco)

If I was going to go down the pickup route...

Colorado ZR2
Ranger Raptor
