I've always had a battery charger on my vehicles, and wanted to put one of the Victron IP67 chargers with bluetooth monitoring somewhere on my bronco, preferably near the battery. I actually reached out to stinger to see if they would sell just the bracket that they include with their amp install kit (seen here) because I thought it would be a pretty close fit for what I was thinking. They told me they don't sell those individually, so I decided to design my own.

I got the brackets in and installed it this afternoon (took about 15 minutes) and had to drive about 10 miles round trip on an errand. Checked the tightness when I returned and the mount doesn't move at all, so I'm hopeful that the part I was mildly concerned about (the tab that goes in the pocket behind the fuse box) will be sturdy enough to act as a fastener on that end of the bracket. The battery case bolt gives plenty hold strength and this is very rigid overall.

I plan to run the AC cord down front driver's side and use a piece of 90 degree angle bolted to the top of the crash bar to mount an AC inlet so i can plug into shore power when needed, but that's going to be a far simpler process.

I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures without much of a writeup. The pictures are pretty much in order of installation, but feel free to ask any questions about how it fits and why I chose to go the route I went.

Could you post photos of how you did this? I’m interested in doing something similar.

That looks awesome. I really need to figure out CAD at some point. Making brackets like this looks so nice.

I bought one of these (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson...90-degree-Angle-for-4x-Lumber-APVA4/312991871) for $5 at home depot and drilled out one of the holes to be able to mount the AC inlet. Then I attached it to the driver's side frame using an M12 or M10 bolt (can't remember which).

The charger's power cable is run from the engine bay just behind the inner fender to the frame and plugged into the inlet permanently.

Very nice. Want to make me one for my Noco Genius 2D?

I’ve been thinking about how/where I’m gonna mount/route it.

Nice work!

That's for sharing this! It looks like you've mounted the port to where the crash bar would typically attach. Is that correct?

Unless you've already bought it, and assuming you want to keep it as small and economical as possible, I think you'd be better served by getting the Genius 5x1. It's the smallest and least expensive NOCO charger that's intended to be mounted permanently on-board.

This gets you the waterproof feature, which I think is very important for mounting something like this in the engine bay.

Dang. You make a good point. I originally bought it for our Ranger (which will see less water submerging). So, perhaps I will get the 5x1 for the Bronco instead.

Nice install! Love me some Victron!

I use the IP67's (four of them), their solar charge controllers on my Four Wheel Camper and pusher RV. Their app is nice showing charge history and the level of customization they let you do is pretty impressive. Firmware updates with docs on the regular. Strong customer Forum community. Not sure why more guys seem unaware of the brand.

Funny that I'm seeing this now - I just bought an Everstart 4A waterproof charger and hooked up the ring terminals to my battery for keepign the battery charged overnight and while I'm working on my audio system. I ran it down the driver's side headlight area and out the front of the vehicle to my bumper for easy access.

I've been very impressed with the combination of size, fast charging and monitoring in this unit.

Only downside, and it's theoretical until something goes wrong, is that it's completely sealed. Repairs look to be a non starter

I never heard of that brand. Guess I’m doing some research. I like bulletproof solutions.

On my 2021 I mounted the outlet flush on the skid plate of my RC hidden winch.

I mean, I spent $35 on my whole install... Just a walmart brand charger, nothing special. The 4amp waterproof one is on sale right now which is why I got it for $35!
