Well I had a soft top and went to an Armadillo top. I already know that the top could outlast my Bronco. I have seen some MIC tops start having cracks, and some others have held up decently.

If I were purchasing, I would truly get a painted top over a MIC top just in looks alone. The design and inner panels are much better on the new painted tops as well.

Ok Adam, I have to ask...You knew the MIC top was junk, you owned one, but you bought a 25 with a MIC top anyway? Painted mod top is light years better than the MIC. It is not just a painted MIC.

Edit: Run, don't walk back to your dealer and look/touch a MOD top and see for yourself. Then trade for a MOD top. Take the hit.
Yep, I knew about the MIC tops, AND I was assured by Ford, they had the cracking problem fixed and would not happen on the 2025 MIC tops.....so there you go.....I'd love to swap it out for a MOD top and willing to pay the difference in cost, but I'm sure they wont do that so I'm stuck with yet another crap MIC top that I was told would be better.....Hope this meets with your approval 🙄

I'm 5'-8". When looking at my hardtop from ground level, it looks perfect everywhere.

If I get on a step ladder and look down from above, the passenger side window has 38 cracks. They are only visible when looking down from above.

Everyone who thinks they don't have cracks, make sure you look at it from ALL angles, before its too late.

Our '24 has no cracks, 7k miles on it, sits outside 100% of the time. Has been waxed a couple times, only went through 1 car wash before discovering they warn you not to do that. Has been hand-washed at home since then.

From the pics I've seen, most of these are stress cracks that start at/near the windows...which is to be expected if the vehicle is seeing a lot of twisting and/or heavy shocks, though they should not be doing it this quickly.
Who is "they"? And where is this warning?

Don't be pissed at me dude because you trusted a salesman that has no way of knowing if Ford fixed the Mic top. Every year they have produced them a certain percentage have been crap. My 21 has no cracks, but knowing what I know now, I would not buy another one!

Exactly, they can be hard to see, especially if you dont know what your looking for, a lot of people think they are scratches, which they are not - mine looks the same as yours

Dude, you gotta stop ASSUMING........I was told directly from Ford ENGINEERING the issue with the cracks had been addressed for the 2025 MIC tops.

I stand corrected. Most people don't have a direct line to Ford's engineers. Would it be wrong to assume that the engineers at Ford have been "addressing" the shitty Mic tops since the original tops started delaminating and cracking etc.? I'm thinking their efforts are not reaching the production line at Webasto! Really not trying to be an ass. Genuinely wondering why anyone would buy a MIC top now that the MOD top is readily available.

Here is the warning decal. Well two doors require hand washing which is fine since us two door owners truly worship our versions. Lol

Ford would have had a sale from me by now if they offered an OEM soft top instead of a MIC top on a 2-door. I want cloth seats too, so a base is my only choice and I'll have nothing to do with a MIC top given what some of you are going through. A Badlands with a painted top ain't gonna happen at $60K+.

Twisting or heavy shocks? These tops either crack while sitting in the driveway or in regular highway driving. I should know, it's happened twice to mine.
Concur. If anything, it's the installation of the windows at the factory that starts these cracks. Mine had minor cracks around the windows literally the day I brought it home from the dealer. I made sure to photograph this at the time to see if got any worse before the warranty expired. All and all mine are rather minor so I've decided to just accept that trying to get a replacement under warranty is as likely as not to result in a worse situation.

Found my first crack a week after my warranty expired, contacted Ford, they told me to go fuck myself.
Pathetic. Sorry this happened this way to you.

It's good to have a friend at Ford HQ -

Well, it's very simple.....I did not want to order one and wait for it - my dealer had this one on the lot and it was the 7MT Base that I wanted, in the color I wanted, SO that should Genuinely tell you all that you have no need to know!
