As is commonly discussed around here the stock muffler does its job a little too well, giving very little aural feed-back to a manual driver. So in an attempt to having to rely on the poor digital tachometer, I decided to try to remedy the situation through mods.

In addition to eliminating the fake engine noise coming through the stereo with Forscan (these sounds just confuse the issue) I ordered this muffler (aka "performance exhaust") through Lethal Performance:

As you can tell, it is small (and light) and does not do much "muffling". How close is it to a simple straight pipe muffler delete? Hard to say, just pulling a number out of the air I would say 87.267%. Where does it fall on the rice burner fart-can scale? I would say a 5...certainly not full on fart-can but it is loud (or can be), has some drone (yet it is not a full on drone monster) but that is out done by your Bronco's wind noise by the time your at highway speeds. To be honest when I pulled it from the box I thought "uh-oh, the wife will never approve" but it turned out more subdued.

It is well built, welds seem good, etc. Install is super easy as it just re-uses the OEM hanger. It is tucked up under better than the stock muffler. Best of all, it is not $1k + as so many "exhaust systems" are these days.

The biggest con might be it does not quite clear my OEM tow hitch:

To their credit SPE admits this on their website and it just does touch/push into the hitch itself, with no vibration but a bit of heat transfer to the bracket, though not enough to worry me at this point.

I went on an all day trail run with my local club yesterday and I ran into no issues, did not think it was overly loud, though truth is I would have liked a bit more 'muffling'. I certainly have a much better audible clue as to where I'm in the rpm range so it fulfills my primary goal with this mod.

What does my butt-dyno say about any HP benefit, torque curve effect(s), and possible induced turbo lag? If there is a difference it is within placebo range so I'm going to say "no difference either way".

I may get a (Helmholtz) resonator added in up stream if I decide it is too loud for daily use or for the wife. So for now it stays on.

I picked up a Vibrant clone mentioned in this thread (one of the many $70 ones on Amazon - all made in the same factory in Asia no doubt as the Vibrant) and had a local muffler shop weld it in today for $60:

It has quieted it down a bit. If stock was a 1 and the Snyder alone was a 8.25, it is now about a 4 or 4.5. I was hoping for a 5.5 or 6 to be honest, so a little quieter then I wanted, but the wife is pleased so I got that going for me...

What does this look like??
This is the "Floshine" branded Vibrant clone from the drivers side looking back toward passenger rear:

I would have liked it tucked up a touch more, as the lip is just about even with the frame (but higher then the gas tank & its skid

I thought the fake engine noise was High/Lux package only. Am I wrong?

I just picked up a 2025 - need to plug into Forscan and start digging.

I certainly had it on my 24 Big Bend with no package (other than SAS) so it was "base". With a change in Forscan I have it no more...

Just found this thread. I just put this SPE "muffler" (if you can call it that) version on my 2.7. Since I added an aftermarket bumper and have CORE4X4 powder coated track bar, control arms etc. I wanted to show them off more and get the factory can out of the way. This definitely does it but man it is loud. Sounds deep and throaty for sure but the drone is crazy. If mine wasn't a toy and was my daily I couldn't take it and I love exhaust.

I had to cut the pipe back 1/4-1/2 an inch to get it away from the hitch and tweak the factory hanger because mine did vibrate on the hitch.

Quality is great, tucked up out of the way is great, sound is mean for what it is but man, it is pretty loud.

But for $275 bucks it is a cheaper way to do it... Might look into something else now. STEEDA is advertising theirs now for $199 for the axle back, not sure how it sounds or how tucked up out of the way it is.

good post. I can't believe the almost 1,000 price tags for some of these systems. I have put exhausts on my vehicles in the past, and when I was looking for one for the Bronco I was very surprised how much some of these systems cost. Pretty ridiculous, if you ask me.

Consider a cheap Amazon addition (welded in upstream) as well, but yea @ $199 is cheap - unless it is more like the Snyder then different 🤷‍♂️

I know...a muffler is a muffler, unless it is a "Axle-back-high-clearance-better-then-your-girlfriend exhaust system" then it is $1500 :ROFLMAO:

LOL good call. I was thinking it was the same as the ROUSH, looks identical to it. I really didn't care if it was just as quiet or a little louder, didn't buy it for an "exhaust sound" but to get it up and hidden without that ugly can hanging out the back. Just drove it back to work for the 2nd time, damn thing is a lil obnoxious but quiets down when in the upper gears coasting.
