Ford Performance High Clearance M5230BR3
vs.
Borla Touring High Clearance 11973

Borla makes the F-P systems and the main difference of these 304 SS systems is the tips. The ford system just has the 2.5" 304 SS tailpipes slant cut and the Borla has welded-on 4" polished tips. I kind of like the simpler and smaller Ford tips better.

From what I've read, the Ford Performance system uses the S-Type Borla muffler so it should be louder than the Borla Touring, but the added on 4" tips on the Borla should also amplify sound a bit.

Anyone have either one of these systems on their 2.3 Bronco ??

Thanks,

Doug

I have the Touring on my 2.3 2 door. It’s loud enough for me. Not sure louder would sound any good on a 4 cyl. Where are you seeing that the Ford version is the S Type?

There is a thread on these here somewhere. Borla has a good video comparing all 3 sound versions they sell.

I would go with the Borla system. It definitely wakes the exhaust on the bronco and has a great tone! The Ford Performance sounds great too, but it would come down to which tips you would rather have on your build. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us here at Lethal Performance!

On my 2016 2.3T Mustang I installed the Stainless Works system and on my '21 2.3T I ordered it with the optional Active Valve Performance Exhaust. The Stainless Works sounded great, the factory Active system sounded similar in the "Normal" mode and was more obnoxious any louder (Sport or Race modes), the Quiet mode was nice and stealthy, and I really liked the look of the Quad Tips.

As far as the FP system being based on "S-type Borla", I had read that in a thread on this forum (tried to find it again to post a link, but no such luck).

I saw the 3 sound videos on Borla's site and there is a vid on Ford's site as well just need to find time to listen to them.

FP generally from my experience uses the S-Type muffler. We have not installed any FP bronco exhausts but installed plenty of Borla and love them. They give a nice deep tone without being over the top on the loudness factor! @Caleb@PandaMotorworks or myself can make sure you get the best price on the borla system when ready!
