Question on replacing the front pinion seal. '23 WT so it's the Dana M210. Dealership has had it for just about 2 weeks now. They are saying the seal came in last week but it uses one time use bolts that didn't arrive and we are now waiting on. Anyone familiar with one time use bolts on the Dana M210? Seems like it's odd that you can't replace a pinion seal with previous bolts. Our '21 BL has had it's pinion seal replaced twice but didn't take this long...

They are putting us in a loaner so it's a bit more palatable.
Good. Did they mention if the one time use parts they’re waiting for were on backorder? Or just taking a few more days?

Seems to be just taking a few days. But we'll see. We're at a week since the seal was received.

I work at a Land Rover dealer.. The manufacture has us replace many nuts and bolts on warranty work because of liability concerns. They will bounce a claim if you didn't replace all the hardware. Currently waiting on parts to fix a rear axle seal leaking on my 2022 Bronco. The dealer will call when parts arrive. Vehicle sitting in my garage in the meantime.

Ford does the same thing as far as bouncing claims when all the one time use parts aren’t used.

Any chance you can please provide the part numbers for those on an M210 FDU ?
2022 Wildtrak.
Do you want all the one time use parts? Or just the ones I listed previously?

I guess all of them if it's more than just the bolts & the pinion nut.
I'm going to need to change my leaking pinion seal...

Half of this stuff is probably unnecessary. But regardless, here is the full list from Ford:

Front caliper bracket bolts: W717938-S439 (4 required)
Front driveshaft bolts: JB3Z-4B496-B (6 required)
Sway bar bracket bolts: W721449-S439 (2 required)
Sway bar bracket studs: W721041-S439 (2 required)
Sway bar bracket nuts: W520214-S440 (2 required)
Pinion flange nut: KB3Z-4320-A
Axle fill plug: 6C2Z-4N282-AA
Pinion seal: MB3Z-3254-B

I agree, some of those can probably be reused (I see why they'd label them as replace, for liability).
I'll look over & see what I think it makes sense to actually replace.

Is replacing this seal in the realm of a decent backyard mechanic? The only part of the job that concerns me is seating the new seal w/o damaging it. Ais a special tool required?
