So I've been using Meguiar's Hot Rims Wheel & Tire Cleaner for years on all my vehicles and Class A. It is like a chemical skin peal for the rubber. It removes that dull brown color that rubber gets (especially here in AZ), and leaves the tire dry and looking brand new. Does an excellent job on brake dust and the wheels too. It applies as a kinda foam to a wet tire/wheel and then use a brush. The foam will turn brownish as you work the tire. Then a quick rinse. Awesome product.

I like Lucas Slick Mist Tire and Trim Shine. It's just right - not glossy but not matte. It doesn't smear off on your hands or clothes, and lasts lots longer than the cheaper aerosol tire gloss stuff. It doesn't wash off after a good rain either. Spraying it on (it's a pump variety) after a good scrubbing with Simple Green those tires look perfect!

Personally not a fan, makes me think of early - mid 2000s car shows where every old guy had huge wheels with high glossed rubber bands on every classic car. I especially think the shine looks odd on any 4x4.

I prefer shiny tires because they appear newer; however, I dislike that the gloss splatters onto the sides of my Raptor due to the wide tires, regardless of how long I allow it to dry.

You’re probably right but I still like glossy. Especially when the Bronco is clean.

Just throwing out a shameless plug here... DuraCoating Technology sells the best tire coating on the market. No sling, gloss or satin to suit your preference.

Once my last bottle of box-store tire dressing is gone, I'm switching entirely over to DC-T. I used half a bottle of the Chemical Guys stuff on my tractor tires after moving a few hundred tons of red dirt- tires looked amazing for 24hrs and then like crap again (yes I cleaned the surfaces first, not a noob here)

100000% this!!!. I've been using this products for years in the lovely purple bottle. It burns the crud right off and doesn't damage ur wheels.

Truly a matter of preference but I detail cars as a hobby and never go “glossy”. You just don’t see glossy goopy tires on the best cars at vintage show/concours or at high-end auctions. A deep matte black shows the car best.

To get down past the grime and contaminants in a dirty wheel and tire, my fave cleaner is P&S Brake Buster Total Wheel Cleaner applied and scrubbed with an Obsessed Garage soft bristle tire and wheel brush. After decon, I rinse and dry and wash the car/truck. I typically detail the wheels and tires last by applying a single coating of Wolfgang Concour Series Black Diamond Tire Gel with a sponge. It leaves a nice rich matte black look.

My ‘25 Badsquach was delivered by the dealer with a coating of greasy and very glossy tire shine. I brushed past the spare and it coated my clothes with black gunk. 3 passes with car wash soap removed enough shine that I was willing to let my Jeep friends see it. NO GLOSS allowed on an off-road machine and questionable even on a mall cruiser. My ride’s tires have since then acquired the usual brownish tinge which is remarkably compatible with its Marsh Gray (aka Chocolate Mousse) outer coat.
