@CalvinT -

Thanks for the reply.

We can tech out on materials all day in a battle between Real World Use vs AI Generated Search Results, which can return either a negative reply or a positive one depending on how you prompt it.

The takeaway for anyone that reads this far-

BluMak3D products are made 100% in the USA with PA12 in the MJF process.

MJF outputs production quality PA12 parts when designed and manufactured properly for feasible applications (this is what we do).

Our products are personally designed to be made with this material and manufactured in this process by a real world MJF expert who has as many years of hands on experience with the MJF process as anyone possibly can, and has made millions of parts for customers world wide, including production parts for major OEMs.

BluMak3D's main business and source of operating costs is 3D scanning, designing, and producing MJF parts for customers. We make the automotive product line for fun and to help satisfy our lifelong passion for all things automotive.

Unlike most automotive products companies that need to create/copy products to stay in business, we do not. So we offer very few unique products that we like and use for ourselves rather than pouring over popular vehicles looking for stuff to make or scouring markets to see what we think people might buy.

Our high personal standards are reflected in our products and how we operate. Resulting in high customer satisfaction.

As I've said before, I really like the design of your mounts. I went back on your site and watched your install video. It's probably the best install video I've seen for any product. It's concise and to the point. And it covers details someone might miss unless they've done a lot of wiring. I consider install instructions to be documentation.

In both professional and private life I've noticed a definite connection between the quality of documentation and the quality of a product. While I've seen good products with poor documentation, I've never seen a poor product with good documentation. This bodes well.
It means you put a lot of thought into the design and it's reflected in your install video.

You made a comment about me using AI generated search results. So I decided to ask ChatGPT about your mounts. Here's the reply.
-----------
I took a look at that BluMak3D mount. A few key points jump out that matter for your setup:

1. Design intent
  • Those brackets are angled outboard specifically to put ditch lights where you want them — covering the roadside rather than pointing straight forward.
  • They’re shaped to clear the hood and A-pillars, so you avoid the classic glare issues we just discussed.
  • Since they’re made for the Baja Designs pods you’re buying, the geometry lines up — no need to fuss with shims or oddball angles.
2. Material & durability
  • BluMak3D prints these in reinforced nylon (MJF/PA12, not hobby filament). That’s solid for heat and UV exposure, especially since they’re not in direct engine-bay heat.
  • They’re chunky enough that vibration shouldn’t be a problem with S2-sized pods. (If you were mounting heavy LP6s, I’d be less confident.)
  • The load path is short — straight to the cowl bolts — so there’s little leverage to cause flex.
3. Practical use
  • Mount height (at the cowl) + 40° outward toe = perfect strike zone for what you described: spotting two-tracks, driveways, and road edges.
  • Because they’re angled, you won’t need to crank the pod itself off its detent — easier to aim and lock in place.
  • With your fogs handling the near-field, and the roof bar handling far-field, these will slot right into the 100–140 ft side-zone gap.
-----------

I also like that your mounts hide the wires. That's huge. It makes the ditch mount installation look factory instead of after market. I've been looking at the DV8 mounts for over a year, but couldn't get past their look and never bought them.

I apologize for raking you over the coals in my previous posts. I've had bad experiences with nylon parts in the past. Obviously results of misapplication.

I am going to order mounts from you but I have a question about the bundled BD S2 light kit. You show lights with both the wide lens and combo lens on your web site. Which do you ship?

Thank you for your considerate research and replies.

Our former website guy erroneously used a stock photo of the S2s with the wrong lenses which is on my list of "shit to fix".

We ship with the "Wide Cornering" lenses. I've found these to put the most light where we want it. Perfect placement of illumination is a passion for me and Ive gone to the extremes with fine tuning of angle and lens selection with this product. Luckily, our process allows for instant design changes.

Also Thanks to those of you posting pictures of your LP4 Ditch Lights.
They are pretty big but not much bigger than the XLs.

If you eventually go LP4 you’ll live them. I have Squadron Pro’s in fog and white with the combo lens. Another pair of Pro white for ditch and I mounted them to the crash bars. Factory fog switch runs a pair of Squadron SAE white driving shown in the middle. All the lights and brackets are from Specialty Performance Products.

Thats the Baja Designs SAE fog in white. They’re street legal.
So can you elaborate on why you made the lighting decision you did (lense patterns and color for the front bumper)?

Im curious as I had not thought to do an amber driving combo.

OT for the thread but like I said the front is likely next after the ditches.

I have both Baja Designs and Diode Dynamics on a few vehicles. The deciding factor for the Bronco was my OCD about symmetry. I wanted the lights in the bumper to all be the same size. DD cubes case is a bit bigger than the BD and couldn't fit three cubes.
Next up is lens patterns.
For everyday street driving I used the SAE white fog lens connected to factory fog light harness with Bambi mode. Street legal and requires no interaction from me.
Next up would be solo street or offroad - for this I wanted brighter white, BD Squadron Pro’s. Once set of forward has the driving combo, a set not pictured has the spot lens. This provides me with forward options based on terrain and weather.
Amber fogs for crappy mist, snow or dust. Not road legal but they are aimed downed considerably.
Also not pictures is I changed the crash bar ditch lights to S1 white with Trail lens. Smaller footprint, completely protected by the skid.
And when I need to be seen from space… I can then on the A pillar LP4’s.
There is no need for a giant light bar.

On my F350 I didn’t want A pillar lights. In this case it’s all DD.
