When the Stroppe was first introduced I was a harsh critic simply on the paint scheme. Yesterday my auto journalist son brought a Stroppe test model by my house. I must admit my opinion was changed. It actually is a great set up

Man, all the haters, LOL. I love mine, but then again I grew up with the originals. I have a '74 "catalog Baja" to bookend the new one. FWIW a "Catalog Baja" is one built by the owner using Stroppe parts that were available at some ford dealers as well as mail-order. I am making a few (reversible) changes to the new one. Yes, the tailgate is getting a wrap. A new aftermarket heritage grille painted as it should be and a modern take on the Cactus Smasher. I get more people thumbs upping it and talking about it wherever I stop than either of my Gen 1 broncos.

How much is a tailgate wrap?

Some interesting things to know about this Edition:

According to Ford's "From the Road" blog.

"Ford and aftermarket builder Maxlider Brothers Customs collaborated to revive the legacy of the Stroppe Bronco by introducing the 2025 Stroppe Edition Bronco. This new Bronco pays tribute to Bill Stroppe, a legendary off-road racer who built and raced Broncos in the 1960s and 70s, achieving remarkable success, including winning the Baja 1000 in 1969 with a stock 4x4.

Also from the web:

The 2025 Bronco Stroppe Edition is a limited-edition model, with only 650 units produced. It's a modern take on the original Stroppe Baja Broncos, featuring a distinctive tri-tone livery with Atlas Blue, Oxford White, and Code Orange paint. The edition also includes unique features like squared-off fenders, a matte black hood, beadlock-capable wheels, and a white instrument panel with Code Orange accents in the interior. This collaboration between Ford and Maxlider Brothers Customs offers a modern interpretation of a classic off-road legend, blending heritage design with contemporary performance features."

But why 650? That number is often used as an estimate of how many original Baja's went through the Stroppe Shop. A match? Who knows. Definitely a low number. For comparison the 2005 Ford GT? Over 4000 of those were made.

I found hand applied masking paper with orange overspray and tape under the hood. Also hand written tags on masking tape on the inside of the front fenders with the last four of the VIN on them. Looks like the front fenders and doors came off when the orange was added.

I don't think there really is any hate towards this model. It's more of a question of value, and value means different things to different people. Plus, for those who want a two door with the V6, their only option is to spring for the Stroppe. In addition, when a Stroppe is within spitting distance of a BRaptor, it presents different options.

I don’t think this is accurate. As far as I know, Ford has never publicly disclosed how many units would be built.

Yes very hard to nail down. But this was out there in more than one place. On another forum Im trying to collect VIN numbers, sort of a registry. The stroppe has a unique VIN if research is right. They all end in SLA20XXX. So far the folks who have shared their number all fall in the that number range. Maybe I will start a thread capturing them on this forum too to get more data.

And now its out there in another place here in your post.

Actually, I saw on Ford's website there were only 123 produced. Oops, I misread that, there's only 123 currently available in stock at Ford dealerships within 500 miles of me.

As far as I see, that number was only posted by one random dealerships website, who I guaranteed has no inside information on production numbers.

Not to mention, there’s 411 listed for sale in the country currently on autotrader alone (good place to look for VINs if they are all in a row). Leads me to believe the number is much higher than 650 unless they’ve already stopped building them and only 239 were actually sold.

IF the VINs are in order from 001, they’ve build at least 832 so far just from a quick look at a few for sale.

I saw a video in YouTube where one dealer mentions that Stroppe production is 2% while Raptors are 4%.

But the fact is they are all to much money. The options are really over priced for what they are.
