Rusty,

Thank you for the reply. I just need to do a little more research as to which one I want to purchase along with watching your excellent how to video again.

Couple of quick questions

1. Rear camera mount t location that you chose. Have you noticed if the rear camera mount has affect the rear glass sealing and allowing rain to come in? In other words, has that location worked fine or if you had to do over again would you drop it down below the windows rubber seal?

2. Font camera mounting. In the video you do not say how you mounted the camera but assume used the mount with the tape and stuck it to the bottom grill trim piece? Or did you stick it to the front bumper?

Thanks again!
On #1, don't shove the cable in your weather stripping to hide it and you'll be leak free (ask me how I learned this). 🙂

#2 I did both. Before my winch, I did it on the lower most part of the grill. When I did the winch, I relocated all the way out front so I could see better there.

Also, I haven't tried the rear tire mount option. But until the overpriced 3rd party brackets come well below $100, in the cabin my camera shall stay. It works just fine there.

Did the provided rear camera cable reach the back glass or did you have to purchase the extension cable?
There is more than enough cable. I mounted mine on the roll bar to keep it out of the weather. I left enough slack to relocate it to the spare tire later if I decide to do that.

Don’t worry about glare. If you can’t see the display, it will function as a conventional mirror.

My front camera is below my winch. I can see the ground 2 feet in front of it.

Rusty and Phil, you both sold me on the Tripro and I just ordered it. I figure I can run without the front camera if I find it is not for us. Also if the wife does not like the camera setup, I will then install it into my 24 Santa Cruz Night.

I'll bet you end up with a 2nd one for the Santa Cruz you end up liking it so much.

Also, someone else mentioned that you can buy a camera for the cab separate. That guy's swaps back and forth between the two - bumper for trail rides, and cab for security. Unplug one and plug the other.

Hey All,
Looking at getting a couple for me and the wife's vehicles. Do you need any of the "extras" they offer when ordering?

Windshield mount is a must. Helps keep the WB from getting in the way of the visors. Hardwire kit will let you jump off the fuse box to allow for recording when the car is off. The polarizing lense is helpful but not essential. The kit that includes all that also adds an additional year warranty.

If you get the accessory kit, it comes with the OEM style windshield mount, hardwire kit, license plate bracket, additional camera mounts, spare screws, and more. It's worth it just for the windshield mount, I consider that a mandatory component. I was back in it several times for parts as I moved the cameras around getting the locations determined. Some of the screws are like you would use for eyeglasses. If you drop one good luck finding it. Nice to have extras.

I tried the glare filter. It worked, but significantly diminished the quality of the display and eliminated the ability to use the reflection as a conventional mirror. In direct sunlight the display went completely white. I couldn't stand it and removed it after a couple of days. I keep my top off during the summer and it's been off since the install. I expect it to be much better when the top is on.

EDIT: I'll add that their customer service is 5 star.

Noticing same issue... What customer service issue are you referring to?

May consider returning to @WolfBox , but it does do GREAT with the top on and the additional cameras are awesome. Curious/disappointed in just 1080p for the 3rd camera. Why couldn't it also be 2K? A planned profit with future upgrade? 🤔

The one thing I've noted about the 4k is that the file sizes are huge (to be expected). After my trail rides, I'll typically sort through the good stuff and delete the rest. But before doing file management, I use an app to batch-resize the files down from 4k. It makes it quicker/easier to sort through and upload to my Dropbox. So there's no love lost on front only being 1080p.

I have this one on my Amazon Bronco list...

Not bad for $40. Maybe use the license plate bracket to mount the rear camera later...

Basically, we are worrying about the file size. But we're taking that into consideration. Thanks!

Has anyone tried mounting the bumper camera as an underbody mounted camera somewhere besides the bumper? I have the OEM front camera but thought maybe the bumper camera could be mounted in other locations.

I have mine mounted under my winch out front, but I have heard of people doing that. I'm curious how you don't knock it off while wheeling.
